I'm starting to think that Japanese-made games have become very flashy to look at but are no longer fun to play.What the hell happened?!

it sucks when you play on a harder difficulty. especially Climax mode...ugh! can't even activate witch time. DX

The combat is Awesome, enemies look cool but later enemies are too quick and have too many unfair attacks, Unexpected quick time events and health drops too fast.
Otherwise pretty fun and cool.

I was so excited about this game - all my hopes were on a female Dante-like character. -_- So glad I Game Stopped this one. I got through her opening transformation scene, got up, shut it off and put in God of War.... Because the sex for bonus money scene was far less offense to my senses.

It's a reflex-based beat-em-up.
And you expected story and fairness?
Seriously though, its strong point is the combat.
Most of which relies around the solid tactic of DODGE!
And honestly, it was better than getting ANOTHER bad Sonic game.
Plus, there's always Hard and Very Hard to keep you company.

I thought this was quite hilarious despite the fact that I really enjoyed the game itself as well. More than anything, it was the games' tongue-in-cheek humor that made it fun to play, for me anyway. Reading your comic kinda makes me want to play it again now, heh.
Also, quick replay to some of the other comments : God of War was boring hack-n-slash, and Dante is girly

Also, the game was pretty fucking stellar, as is just about everything Kamiya heads up (Devil May Cry, Viewtiful Joe, Okami). The combat system was flexible and intuitive, the boss fights are some of the most creative and polished from this generation, and I absolutely adored Bayonetta as a character. I seriously hate to be that guy, but I'm pretty sure you didn't "get" it.
I understand its no skin off your nose, but I believe I'm quite done with this nonsense.

1. Never really cared.
2. I got it, but it never really happened to me.
3. I don't know if you know this, but you can skip cutscenes, if that was what you where refering to.
4. Yeah, I fall for that, especially if you skip the cutscenes.
5. The QTE are pretty bad, but that's only the first time around if you intend to play the game more than once, and on different difficulties.
6. They are pretty small, aren't they?
7. Cereza was only calling Bayonetta "mommy" because Bayonetta looks like her mom, which makes sense because Cereza is Bayonetta from the past.
8. The game was visually stunning, but very, very weird in many spots, and I found the game was awesome to play. I think it really comes to personal preference on this one, which is fine, really.

Hilarious comic. Most of that is quite true too...but these kinds of games are meant to be learned. You get an F the first time so you can get an A next time. I too gave up on the plot. The game is hella fun to play though, but it will never touch DMC3.

You're more likely to watch an epic fight 70-80% of the time
as CG/Cut Scene rather than actually get to play them.

In her (admittedly pathetically weak) defense, 'Netta's proportions are comparatively normal for a healthy woman with her "assets". We've just gotten used to girls in games looking like bongs attached to a pair of soccer balls and the head of a Precious Moments doll. Plus, the dinky 'Dum-Dum' brand lollypop is supposed to make the men playing feel small and inadequate. They're just F'ing with us.
That said, the game itself is crap. A shame really. I had high hopes.

I have to respectfully disagree with you on how "normal" Bayonetta looks. She isn't so much normal for a healthy woman with her "assets" so much as normal for a bloated corpse of an anorexic with mild giantism. The makers of Bayonetta have made the mistake that the makers of Heavy Rain did. Mistaking "realistic looks" for "good graphics" and land themselves right in the middle of the uncanny valley. I agree with everything else you said though.

Well yes, her breasts and butt were enormous and would in no way exist in the real world. But I do believe that the creators tried their damnedest to stay within the golden ratio while still catering to the tropes of girls in gaming. And I feel those tropes are the real enemy here. Don't get me wrong; Like every other gamer nerd out there, i love boobs. I just wish we could grow past that particular obsession so folks like us don't get lost in the uncanny valley effect.

Oh so very true. The tropes are best suited for more animesque looking works and even then, as nice they can be, they're often overused, and in Bayonetta's case misused as well. Still, I’ll be glad when the "realistic" and "cinematic" bubbles blow over and we can start enjoying our escapism again.
