Panel 2 definitely makes me think of my experience. I spent the first of the levels in which I had to shoot and fall through multiple portals going "OH MY GOD WHAT THE HELL?! AAAH! AAH!" It's so disorienting until you get used to it.

...It took me an hour to get through one of the very early test chambers. Like test chamber 2 or 3 just 'cuz I would send random things through the Portals.
Needless to say anything can become a distraction in that game. xD

Probably stated before but those things on her legs are shock absorbers to prevent Chell's knees from snapping inward if she jumps to far.
