I really didn't see the appeal of the companion cube. As far as I was concerned, it was just a cube with hearts painted on it.

Well, it saves your ass about three times, will never threaten to stab you, and cannot leave you as it has no legs. It stays wherever you tell it to and cooperates with your every command. Most people would prefer one to their wives. Even GLaDOS didn't have the heart to kill it.

I always take the time to euthanize the cameras first. You can get 5 of those things in the level. And pile them all on the Aperture Science Emergency Intelligence Incinerator at once, along with the milk bottle and the cans of beans. I take my time when there's cameras to destroy.
