I'm one of those crazy people that feels ripped off if a game irritates more than it entertains.GTA4 was pretty, but was shite to play.
SR2 was fun. Pure and simple.
(Wrote the script for this one ages ago. Didn't have time to draw it till now.)

For the exact same reasons I prefer SR2, because it's fun, that's that. That's why I play sandbox games, to have fun. I don't care how unrealistic or cartoony or ridiculous it is, I just want to have fun.
Besides, I like playing a psychopath, in which Tommy Vercetti is the only GTA main character I liked.

Ya know, I really should trade in GTA4 for SR2 or some other game.
Most fun I've had in GTA was playing with friends and just screwing around. Grabbing an RPG, and hiding on the roof of a building above their spawnpoint is infinitely more fun than playing against the Rockstar Devs, who warp around into spots outside of reach and use weapons that are restricted (and yes I've played against them, and defying the rules of the map and/or game doesn't make you edgy or hip).
And, don't know why, but when you do these particular comics, I can't help but feel that they're similar to Zero Punctuation, in a good way mind you. Might be the simplistic characters that get the points across so well, or the fact that his review trashed on GTA4 when he covered SR2. Who knows?

sometimes simple is all it takes. like your art in these strips. the perfectly illustrate even to non-gamers like me how fun, aggravating, mundane, freaky and plain weird some of these games are.

I definitely agree. I think GTA4 was horribly overblown from the critics who saw nothing but the technical aspect of the game, but didn't realize they got rid of most of the fun things about the game. Saints Row 2, though sporting bugs and a pointless story, was just more about what GTA4 should've been and had so much customization and humor to it and was a blast to play with friends

I honestly agree with you. I have SR2 for the computer, and I couldn't resist it when I was playing it.
But, I still like GTA 4, but I do agree that it was overhyped for no reason.

Saint's Row 2 really is a better overall game than Grand Theft Auto 4.
It has massive levels of customization in character, clothing, and vehicles, the controls for driving and shooting are good and tight, and the characters you meet during the game are all crazy and funny in their own ways.
And you can actually BRAKE in that game going 25 MPH without skidding out of control!

honestly, i liked the charater better and felt it was better developed in Saints cause no matter what you made, he was just the funniest most evil fuck head ever(see what happen to the Brotherhood's leader's girlfriend)

I'll agree, the storyline and graphics in GTA4 are quite rich, but the gameplay was a little repetitive and got old quickly...

Well after having played both games, Saints Row 2 has one thing the GTA 4 doesn't, the ability to turn your car without it madly spinning about.

I love this game so much. I love watching the brutal cut scenes (like say, the Brotherhood ones), turned into something completely ridiculous because you're wearing a hot dog costume.

Excellent, yet another see's the light. If i have one complaint about saints row 2 it's that in the first one you start as a person trying to take back the streets from the bloodthirsty gangs. by the time the second one ends you are the very thing you set out to stop.

Have you tried the cheats yet? When you're said and done with it, it ups the fun even more. Turn the gravity down, god mode on, and make all the cars evil and try and outrun them with freinds online or by yourself.
