Description Listening to the people of the UK post-referendum and the display of complete and utter ignorance and stupidity......f**k it. Just let the place burn.
Let the place burn and let the fire be a warning to the rest of the planet: pay attention to the world around you and don't throw away the chance for unity, regardless of how tiny a sliver it may be.

Thanks a lot man, i'll let you know what I think after reading it.

did you ever get around to reading those journals? I'd be impressed if you did, having a life and all.

The first one yes. Which I quite enjoyed actually.

Really? You didn't think the opening was too dense? I tried to weave the exposition in organically by having the daughter tell it as an extension of her repressed and sheltered upbringing. Hence the time warp where she goes from being eight to fourteen years old: she's still hearing the same stories as a teenager. I worried that might be jarring to some people. It was certainly experimental, the whole opening. What did you think of the reveal that Kaven is missing an arm? How would you, personally, describe the relationship between Kaven and his daughter? And feel free to be as descriptive as you want. Feedback is always appreciated.Β

Oh, what was your favorite part? Did you like the mythology and the red-handed prince? Did the opening leave you with positive questions or plot holes?Β

bruiser128 In reply to The-Psychonaut [2016-08-10 12:29:55 +0000 UTC]

I honestly prefer stories being condensed since it takes
earlier to get into the meat of things, while also allowing
for more information to be given as well.

For me the lead protagonist was my favourite part, since
I could relate to her reactions as also having a shelteredΒ
upbringing.

Just wondering but was Goku a mary sue in the original
english dub?

The-Psychonaut In reply to bruiser128 [2016-08-10 15:44:46 +0000 UTC]

Well, could you follow everything? Did you get a sense for all the characters, even in the story-telling sequence? What did you think of the red-handed prince's story? Was there any information you felt you didn't absolutely need? Because I've thought about just hacking out the parts with the sidhe (the fairies) and the initial introduction of the Fomori (the battle of the giant's stair). Β My sister-in-law told me she retched during the "Feast of Famine" scene where all the Fomori are cursed. What was your reaction?

Oh, what did you think of the wolves at the end?

Nnnno. Goku got his ass kicked a lot. For instance, in 'Dragonball' the only tournament he ever wins is against Piccolo. He loses prior to Roshi and Tien. In the saiyan saga, arguably the best in DBZ, even with all his training in the after life, Goku couldn't defeat Vegeta. It took Gohan crushing him by accident as an ozaru for Vegeta to finally throw in the towel. In the Frieza saga, he only starts winning after Krillin dies and he turns into a super saiyan. Watch 'Dragonball' and early DBZ, you'll see what I mean. He gets pummeled constantly.Β

Yes I did. Much better than most i'll admit. The wolves were worthΒ
investing since they felt more fleshed out in comparison to other
portrayals.

Sorry that was the wrong term, I meant was he dubbed to be likeΒ
Superman.

The-Psychonaut In reply to bruiser128 [2016-08-11 03:00:47 +0000 UTC]

What was you favorite part?

Β I don't think that started until Sean Schemmel around the Buu saga. Before that Goku was certainly powerful but he still had a relatability to him. When he trains for the first time at a hundred times earth's gravity you're with him; you feel the genuine peril he's in.Β

Probably the discussion to the court to be honest.

Yeah the best series show the protagonist trainingΒ
to overcome their obstacle.Β

It's still my favorite scene of Vegeta before the Buu saga is when he's training himself to death.

bruiser128 In reply to The-Psychonaut [2016-08-12 10:30:44 +0000 UTC]

Yeah it really shows how much of a perfectionist Vegeta is in comparison to Goku.
Although it's funny when you realize that Vegeta just wants to be a Mary Sue
REAL bad.

Iiii don't think you can be a Mary Sue and evil.

bruiser128 In reply to The-Psychonaut [2016-08-12 17:31:14 +0000 UTC]

Mary Sue are just about winning in EVERY conflict, it was never specified that they have to be good or evil.

The-Psychonaut In reply to bruiser128 [2016-08-13 04:08:24 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, but a villain that's nearly perfect at everything they do is...a serious threat. I mean, that's what Moriarty was in 'Game of Shadows'. He was a criminal mastermind, a scientist, a mathematician, and an accomplished boxer.Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

bruiser128 In reply to The-Psychonaut [2016-08-13 10:08:55 +0000 UTC]

But what about villains that only get defeated at the end?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

The-Psychonaut In reply to bruiser128 [2016-08-13 16:48:26 +0000 UTC]

i think we'd need to define a mary sue before getting any headway. A Mary Sue (or Damien Wayne) is a character, I maintain, that is effortlessly good at everything they do, is a two dimensional character and is instantly or nearly instantly loved by everyone. At least the protagonists of the story.Β

For me that belongs to the main characters of the manga Fairy Tail.
Where they loose to the antagonist, then come back to defeat with
the power friendship.

Actually FT is worse because it reuses the same plot points in
EVERY arc, and never allows the characters to loose and learn.

I think the reason they wanted to leave is because of the immigration crisis. The open borders policy has let in a lot of emasculated Syrian men from there country who have been crowding the European women and molesting them to their heart's content. Seriously, and it isn't helping that Angela Merkel isn't punishing them for there reprehensible actions; in fact it's being discouraged. I've seen videos of them saying Hail Hitler and wrecking the whole country. All in the name of multiculturalism. It's too soon to tell if what Britain did will work out. We won't really know until a year passes, if they pass or fail.

The greatest error in this referendum was the fact that was a referendum in the first place. Why such a serious decision was left at the hands of the people if the consequences of leaving EU would be catastrophic? One person is intelligent, the people is dumb.
