I love your white out splatter technique. I would like to see that done all over the page, it puts so much texture to everything...do you think you could elaborate on your favorite way to do white out/ ink splatters?

when i was a rookie i'd spatter everywhere. Now that i'm much older and wiser I find a balance. Plus if it's everywhere it looses it's affect

i can tell you enjoyed this. as much as the whole pencils >color thing has caught on, there's just something to be said about a really well inked spread... not to mention the little extra effects you can't achieve with just a pencil! great job

Thanks so much for this link. It was very helpful. I had no idea there was so much post production type work going on these days. It makes me wonder how difficult things were back in the 40's when there was no PS or anything.

Sorry if my English was not clear to me sometimes tricky rsrsr, well what I say is about how you adjust the gray trace in order to clean better when you scan the pages of Greg.

ah....fair enough. I have a feeling his style wouldn't really be appreciated at DC. So you're pretty much a shoe-in. Is there any title you would love to do with him?

I think his style is perfect for DC, it's just a matter of him being on the right book. Batman is the typical choice people are going to make. Personally i'd like to see him on Superman before Batman, step out of the dark and into the light so to speak. I also think he'd be amazing on Green Lantern.
I'd love it if he came to DC, thats my home.

100 traditional.
It was never my idea to ink Greg digitally but I liked the challenge of making digital look like traditional inks. Working with Greg is the bigest honor for me and I'm not about to NOT have some original inks over him.

hahah true, cant beat having some original inked art! Aside from getting original art, now that you've done both regularly, do you prefer inking traditionally over digitally?

actually no, I like both painter 11 and photoshop cs5 but started really preferring photoshop CS5 over painter. Hopefully painter 12 will address some of the issues i have with the app.

cool. I recently started doing Digital Inking and I did a Red Monika peace from Joe Madureira pencil drawing. I inked it several times testing out different softwares to see which one would be better for me and so far I really like Manga Studio Debut 4 for Inking. My second choice after that is Painter 11 because the canvas ratation function is really fluid and it allows me to work a litte bit faster in it as well. I did on in Photoshop CS2 and I really like the stroke thickness that you can put on your bezier curves....I don't know if there is such a function in Painter 11 though.
