Primonk Primal: An upbeat and mischievious young monkey with a love of adventure and exploration. He has a funloving playful attitude, always excited to seek out his next adventure. Primonk is very much a nerd, being a skilled inventor, spending most of his time when he's not adventuring working on different inventions (even if many of said inventions tend to blow up in his face). He likes learning about the different places he comes across, often recording his findings in his journal, but is also very socially awkward. At the same time though He's still a very tough and strong fighter who's not afraid to get rough and will punch you in the face if you deserve it. To the point that he's cocky and impulsively reckless (not helped by how he really likes explosions), though he makes up for this by being a quick thinker who's good at improvising. He's always had dreams of becoming a great pirate due being from a family of pirates and having grown up on their tales of adventure. Primonk is a free spirit who lives by a philosophy of "living as freely as the winds that guide his sail", though this makes him come off as a bit of an oddball and just a bit cooky if not a bit childish. He's very much a nerd and likes learning about the different places he comes across, often recording his findings in his journal. But all in all Primonk is still very kind hearted which leads to him always helping anyone in need that he encounters while on his adventures.

Primonk was born and raised on the Island of Simia, a tropical island that's home to a race of apes and monkeys known as the simians. The island was once home to an ancient advanced civilzation known as the Mangi and their machines were scattered across the island. The Simians fear the ancient technology and try to avoid it as much as possible, except for Primonk who would often explore the ruins and study the tech learning how to build his own inventions. He didn't have many friends growing up, being viewed as an outcast by the other simians. Then one day he had to leave his island home when it was conquered by the evil empire known as 'the Pride'.

I actually originally created this character when I was a little kid based on this stuffed monkey wearing a banana peel my older brother gave me. I always enjoyed drawing this character and would like to make up stories featuring him, the story itself would always change as the years go by, mainly to reflect my own personal tastes at the time until I finally settled on the current pirate form you see here. His name Primonk is a combination of the words 'Primate' and 'Monkey'. For his design I already mentioned the banana peel being inspired by an old childhood toy of mine, I also feel it helps convey the goofy oddball nature of his character. I also based his design off of a real world species of monkey known as the 'brown tufted capuchin'. Also a small detail but the blue shadows on his black clothing was inspired by Batman's design in the original Batman the Animated Series.

Edit: I decided to edit Primonk's design by changing his eyes from a sonic style mono eye to more traditional split eyes.

Edit2: I edited Primonk's design again to make the way I drew his face more consistent with how I typically draw him. Also decided to add some texture to his fur.
