Description
Here's another character for Pirates of the Foggy Waters, this time it's Primonk's grandfather Grandmonk. His real name is Primonk Primal and his grandson Primonk was named after him, everyone calls him Grandmonk nowadays to distinguish him from his grandson.

He's a grumpy, crusty old sailor who continues adventuring despire his old age. He's very boastful constantly telling tall tales about his adventure from his youth (unknown if half the stories are true or not but while he does exaggerate he was a badass in his youth). He's also very snarky and clever in his own right, and he really does care for his family. He is the originator of his family's legacy in piracy, he was born to a very poor family on the island of Simia but worked his way until he made the captain of his own ship. Things looked alright for him until he was betrayed by people who he thought were his friends, framing him for a crime forcing Grandmonk into a life of piracy thus leading into his life full of adventure which he often regailed Primonk with stories of when he was a kid. In a way one could consider Grandmonk to be the original Primonk of his generation.

Grandmonk is the father of Primonk's mother Nancy Primal. His design is inspired by a capuchin since the white hair on their heads fit with the oldman beard, plus it connects to Primonk being a brown tufted Capuchin. I also gave him a peg tail cause I felt that would be a pretty funny detail since he's a pirate monkey, never gonna tell how he lost his tail to begin with because I think it'd be fun to leave that up to people's imagination. All I'll say is that the story of how he lost his tail is actually super embarrassing, so he overcompensates by telling these grand epic talltales about how he lost it. Stuff like losing it in a battle against like 100 krakens, having Thor's hammer dropped on it, needing to cut his tail off to break a curse that turned him into a giant monster during the fullmoon, and so on. Grandmonk was also inspired by Cranky Kong from the DKC series.
