Description
Heyy everyoneThese are my 'Feebas - Milotic' Line, and Like Feebas, the basic stage is way cuter than people make out.
However Unlike them - they both have 2 types which change through evolution and the basic can learn a better range of attacks.
Blugly is More Common than Feebas but less common than Magikarp
They are Based on Blobfish and Dragonfish - along with the concept of Inner Beauty.
--------------------
Basic Stage: Blugly - The Blobfish Pokemon
Type: Water/Poison
Ability: Miserable - only 1 out of 5 attacks will hit
Name Meaning: Blobfish-Ugly
[Evolves through Max Friendship]
They surpass Feebas as the World's Uglist Pokemon, People sometimes even vomit at the site of it. It lives deep underwater where no one can see it. Despite Being ugly, It is said to be one of the most affectionate pokemon, but no-one seems to bother about it.
--------------------
First Stage: Lovelure - The Lovely Pokemon
Type: Water/Dragon
Ability: Cheerful - All Attack hit.
Name Meaning: Lovely-Lure
It is said to be the most friendly and affectionate pokemon, but due to the the ridicule it suffered as a Blugly, it stays hidden away in the dark abyss. Its lure is not to attract prey - but to attract other lonely water pokemon to befriend and protect them; It is usually followed by a small group of these pals.

I saw someone else designed a Blobfish PokΓ©mon too, called Blobly. His also has an Anglerfish-like light on its nose. Sort of like yours, it is also a Magikarp-style weak fish.
However, his instead evolves something much different than yours, and isn't about "Inner Beauty."
Blobly evolves into a PokΓ©mon called Angrage, which is like a Dark Anglerfish Monster that's mad about how it was ostracized and mistreated, and wants to get revenge on those whoΒ thought of it as a freak before. Angrage is also about as strong as a Gyarados too, and it is a Water/Dark type to fit its nature.
Here's links to his Blobfish PokΓ©mon for you. What do you think of his?

question !
How does Blugly evolve (Via happiness or Friendship) if it is always miserable and no one loves it ?

This is high school all over again... People bully the little 'ugly' kid until they grow up to be the most gorgeous being on the face of the planet. The problem is, they have such low self-esteem that they hide from the world, and nobody will ever know what they could have been.

That is the saddest description I've ever read. You can't seriously believe that basic stage is anything but cute.

No matter how ugly it is you can't help but melt at the affections of a Blugly.

fun fact: that famous image is apparently a blobfish corpse. it looks far less weird when it's alive.
also, i love your idea for a blobfish pokemon. i'd get one and love it despite its weird appearance

Yeah, I've always wondered what they looked like pre-pressure change.

wait, pressure change? you mean pressure change causes them to go from [link] to ? how the fuck does that work?

JoshKH92 In reply to Casandraelf [2012-06-18 12:28:03 +0000 UTC]
Well, as I understand it, most deep sea creatures deform when they are hooked and brought to the surface because of the rapid change in pressure between the depths. Their bodies have evolved to cope with the pressure in the abyss, so when they are brought to the surface, they can't cope.
Thats just a general, non-scientific, mostly guessy summary. You'd have to look it up if you want more detail.

i just thought pressure change fucked with your size. i guess that makes sense as to how a blobfish goes from, well, a fish, to
