You can add all kind of Gadgets from the Live Gallery and that stuff.
The sidebar haves all orginal icons (Of course, because this is the real one lol)
Important: Extract all the files in the rar-file with winrar before installing!
Readme is included for help and info.

UPDATE:
How to make the sidebar like in Windows 7!
1. Drag the gadget(s) out of the sidebar somewhere in your desktop.
2. Right click on the sidebar (The dark shadow blurred thing) and click 'Close sidebar' (Or something like that)
The sidebar will minimize now, but it stays running, and your gadgets will stay on your desktop.

The software is not made by me, I only put all the software together in a pack so you can use it on XP easily.

FAQ:
Q: A gadget does not work correctly, it stays blank or an other error occures, can this be fixed?
A: This could be because the gadget is scripted to work on Windows Vista/7, and those scripts won't work on XP.
This cannot be fixed.
But gadgets like clock, weather, calender, and stuff like that should work normaly.
But gadgets like CPU use may need a Windows Vista/7 system, because those scripts are written for Vista/7.
But most gadgets should work!
Q: The sidebar will not start, an error occures when I try to start the sidebar
A: It depends on what kind of error you get, but it could be because you have not installed the newest .NET Framework.
I recommend .NET Framework 3.5 or higher. It can be downloaded from Microsoft.

this doesn't even work, when i load sidebar.exe it doesn't even come up, and then Gadget Extractor always has a Microsoft.Net error. how do i work this? and how did you get your wml like that?

Download .NET Framework 3.0 or higher.
And be sure u have IE7 or higher installed.

thats what i did and its not working lol, i have Framework 3.5, and have IE 8. Sidebar worked today, but it crashes when i try to choose the second Gadget.

wlsrvc.dll and sidebar.exe detected as TR/Patched.GY.3 trojan
i guess i'll go with yahoo widgets

I think this is not a problem of this software.
This can happen with the real sidebar aswell.
And im sorry, I dont know what the prob could be.

Yep this is a virus "TR/Patched.GY.3 trojan"
funny thing is ive been using this sidebar now for weeks.
and i just updated my virus database and it flaged sidebar as a virus.
I've uninstalled the sidebar now.
Joshoon please explain why this has got a trojan in it

It's your virusscanner.
I did not made the software, only the pack.
So far so good, it has not any viruses that could damage your machine.

how have you made XP look like Vista Ultimate? The window and the task bar all look like it. Also how am I able to get the WLM gadget? IS it in the Side bar file?

Hey, nice sidebar. My friend has it for his WinXP laptop, said I should try it. I keep getting an error with the executable. says a certain .DLL file could not be found. Did everything I thought of didn't get it to work. Message me if you wish I'll kep trying to fix it, I just wanted you to know whats up.

Try to reinstall.
If does not work, be sure you have the newest drivers like .NET Framework, and also your videocard drivers could play a role with it.

I found that the problem was that I was trying to run it without internet explorer 8, and so some of the 'gadgets' caused an error. I'll have to look more into it for more information. Thanks though.

Thanks. I went in depth in it out of boredom, yet all I found was that I needed Internet Explorer 8 for some gadgets trying to install. But they could not find a .DLL file associated with the requirements it needed to install. That's what you get for not being up to date, eh? I also think I just confused myself.

Hi Joshoon, I just downloaded your sidebar.
Its good, and working fine.
But The problem I faced is that When I tried to Add more gadgets to my gadget sidebar. The program available Named as "Gadget Extractor" is showing An Error.
"The Application Failed To Initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application."
Please find some help for me !
I have uninstalled the Gadget Extractor and Re-Installed it, But the Problem is still there.

Help With Gadget Extractor Error.
If I try to install a gadget I get this error:
"Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the app will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit the app will close." Access to the registry key: "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/gadget_auto_file\Defaultlcon'is denied."
Only problem is that if I click Continue it still doesn't install. I just get an empty box labeled Gadget Extractor.
Any suggestions??

hello josh,
ive been using the sidebar for quite a while now, alongside the vista transformation pack by windowsx.
it's been working great.
however, after installing the seven transformation pack (also by windowsx), the sidebar loads up without gadgets, and i'm not able to add new gadgets to it.
i was hoping if you'd know how to solve this problem.

The version I used before required an update, WindowsXP_KB940541_x86_ENU, but after I installed SP3 Windows wouldn't install this update and said I already had a newer version of this file. Since I couldn't get this update installed I couldn't get that version of the sidebar to install, so I tried this one. Its easy to install,and is stable. Had no problem adding gadgets using the program Gadget "Extractor". The only problem with this version that I see is that it seems to use more resources and has a small bug, I opened task manager and watched the CPU usage from sidebar, it seems to jump up to 10% or so constantly and then back down to 0, over and over.

hey for those of you all with the "failed to intitilized error code 0xc0000135" when trying to lunch the Gadget Extractor, Go to: [link]
Scroll down to DOWNLOAD SECTION. download both 1.Gadget Extractor Version 3 Package and 2..NET 2.0 Redistibution Package. This fixed my Gadget Extractor problem. I'm running XP with SP3 with NO WINDOWS UPDATES. I also installed 7zip just to be safe. I'm now able to download gadgets from MS website and install them No Problem! Oh, & no problem with MS office07 either.

to change the skins, you have to download Windows Sidebar Styler app by Stanimir Stoyanov.
for the Gadget Extractor, you need to have the latest .NET framework. cheers.

Have you installed the newest .NET Framework?
And about skinning?
There is no function to change the skin in it, the original sidebar hasnt that too.
Maybe a tool will work on it to change the skin.

I just changed my computer OS from Vista to XP. In doing so I've lost my .Net framework and have to download a new one, but everytime I try from the Microsoft website, it has a problem and won't do it. Solutions?
