Description

Series:
‘Psyche’ is a series surrounding the complexity of human consciousness, specifically our individual personalities. Our personalities are invisible to the naked eye, we can only truly know someone once there is a mutual comfort and trust. Then the process of opening up begins and only then will someones true self be revealed. This series allows the viewer to immediately grasp an individuals true self/colours without the need to converse. Each painting represents a specific personality type through the specific colours used. The foundations of my colour representation comes from the Colour Code Personality Profile, created by Dr. Taylor Hartman. Hartman divided personalities into four colours: Red (motivated by power), Blue (motivated by intimacy), White (motivated by peace), and Yellow (motivated by fun). I have chosen to build upon this and elaborate the personality profile, creating three distinctly intricate personalities.

Description:
'Intellect' is a portrait which embodies the personality of an individual who is generally motivated by power. This person readily uses logic, vision and determination to rise above their surrounding peers. Emotion is swapped out for simple logic in times of stress and hardship. Knowledge is praised above all else, information flows through the mind like an infinite stream. Overall they are assertive, action orientated, decisive and pragmatic, taking lead in any situation and always acting on what is best for their own wellbeing. They often have to be right, generally come across as harsh and critical, even when they don't mean to. They may tend to give priority to work over personal relationships. The strong presence and variation of the colours red and hot pink, in accordance with Hartman’s colour code, represent this individuals drive for power. However, there are far more colours present, these collectively represent the intricacy of consciousness. The strong use of green and blue represent intellect, the strong hues denote clear thought and unbounded motivation. The fraction of black portrays the darkness which I believe is present within each of us.

Well i figured that instead of spending the next 3 years finishing a BFA and coming out of it with no real job conformation, I'd rather spend the next 3 years building my actual art career. I found a strong style early on and have pushed the limits, striving to create work thats completely unique in its own. Ive been full-time for 4 months now and things art starting to get really hectic, I've got plans coming out my ears and many commissions. Its obviously a huge risk to make and an extremely tough industry but if ya don't take risks you wont get anywhere Thanks for the interest btw
