‘Psyche’ is a series surrounding the complexity of human consciousness, specifically our individual personalities. Our personalities are invisible to the naked eye, we can only truly know someone once there is a mutual comfort and trust. Then the process of opening up begins and only then will someones true self be revealed. This series allows the viewer to immediately grasp an individuals true self/colours without the need to converse. Each painting represents a specific personality type through the specific colours used. The foundations of my colour representation comes from the Colour Code Personality Profile, created by Dr. Taylor Hartman. Hartman divided personalities intofour colours: Red (motivated by power), Blue (motivated by intimacy), White (motivated by peace), and Yellow (motivated by fun). I have chosen to build upon this and elaborate the personality profile, creating three distinctly intricate personalities.
