I never evolved my Dragonair the second time I played because I hated Dragonite's design compared with Dragonair's beauty (I know, it Β‘s stronger as fuck blah blah blah but it makes me cringe) But I'd gladly evolve my Dragonair in one of these two blue guys. Especially the first one
And the orange dude ---> Orange dude 2 ---> Dragonite is pretty neat. You expect what you are going to obtain. Instead of that "WHAT the f... ?!" with the original version.

The middle one is an excellent piece, and easily the best of the three!

The thing about the Draginte being orang? I get it. That horn on the top is supposed to symbolize being an 'oni' or genie. A omnipresent being or being from a greater dimension, residing in a lower dimension. The orange is because, unlike Gyrados, Dragonite has adapted to all of the multidemensional planes it resides in... meaning planes, valleys, ... Utah or Grand Canyolyon where there had been a flood to form it so that Dragonite occupies all mysterious mystic lands that have to do with planes, arches, and spires in watery areas or watery areas in planes areas. Dragonite is an avatar oni dragon thing.Β
No one has really figured that out, but I expected Josh D to have figured that out... and Josh seems to be close.Β

LOVE that giant blue Dragonite. That little color combination made a pretty forgettable Dragon-Type Pokemon into something VERY memorable and cool!

the one in the bottom could be a difference between male and female charmander, male became charizard and female became dragonite. Β maybe the name could be a little different aswell charmander and charmender for female for eksample! 
And the 2 top evolutions could be the difference between a male and female dratini!

I still enjoy it because I love the lore but Sun/Moon was the only Pokemon game where when I be the main story I was bored...Like I occasion check on it to collect beans lol. I'm just unmotivated to start grinding out ivs and breeding Pokemon for the battle tree. On X and Omega Ruby I done it like crazy I should just hey pokebank to transfer then I'll be motivated again lol
