Description
Goldeen are beautiful water pokemon. They are commonly seen in large japanese style ponds, filled with lilies and fountains, but they are not just a beautiful fish but powerful fighters.
Before 30 years ago you wold never see a Goldeen in the wild, this is because they were specially bred to battle. After years of breeding they ended up growing a poisonous horn on their forehead which they can use as a dangerous weapon. An accident involving Goldeen ending up in one of the biggest Kanto lakes, Goldeen bred and travelled to many other waterways.
They are surprisingly territorial for fish, and fend off many potential threats from whole ponds. however in big lakes they tend to live in more densely weeded areas to hide from predators.
Unlike some wild fish they aren't nice to eat and are only fished for pleasure or battle.
Hope you like it

Again, this seems like another case of an animal being classified as a Pokemon, as with your Magikarp pic. Probably without its poisonous horn, Goldeen would be just a fish. Nice job!

Very nice, though I think the fins could be a little longer. They're show fish, after all.

but they are battle fish also, too bigger fins would limit them in battle

Hmm, I always thought they were show fish first and foremost. Ah well.

Lol. Oh well then.
Aren't those Japanese Fighter fish (forgot what they're called) super aggressive too? They have very long fins regardless.
And just noticing the title of the piece: I always thought Magikarp was supposed to be the koi-type PokΓ©mon.

Goldeen still looks very pretty. Well, who'd a thunk that they'd be quite nasty otherwise? Still, gotta watch for the pretty ones. They can be quite mean.

Nice drawing of goldeen. Can goldeen use poison jab or something? Why a poisonous horn?
Yep, it's the pretty ones who are agressive. Betta fish will beat the snoot out of anything prettier than they are.
This goldeen's cute though. Deceptively so, I imagine.

Absolutely beautiful; you have managed to turn an unrealistic fish of a Pokemon into something that looks like a fish I could take out of a lake in my state! Once again, well done! Oh, and I love the explanation; it makes so much sense in the context of today's world.
