Description
This is one of my own HM creations. Kinda annoyed me that i could never ride around on my Dodrio or Arcanine in the games and go at the speed of bikes or something.So here it is, Dodrio in a Riding saddle. They are commonly seen in races and are known as 'Sprinters' as they run so fast. and before anyone asks... no they cannot fly, no matter what you can do in the games, they already have three heads lets not be ridiculous further and say those tiny wings could fly.

Now would the rider have to wear some sort of helmet or put up a windshield? Unless they don't run THAT fast of course.

helmets are a must really (but like our world people tend not to) wind shields are available to attach to the saddle yes

You know, that front part of the main saddle where the Dodrio's necks snugly fit into.

Varys, usually leather, sometimes softer material is used but they don't last long.

That's what I thought it was.
A friend of mine looked at this and thought it was metal or something and spazzed about it. XD
So does it lock into place using those little snap-in buttons or something?

yer, like a locking mechanism, you can unlock them by pressing buttons underneath. lol why did they spaz out?

Cuz she thought it looked too "medieval" and that it looked like it would torture the poor animal by having it on.

well i love mixing medieval/steam punk/ antique looking things with highly technological things, makes it look like someone had taken a lot of time over it all over, a perfect mix between amazing craftsmanship and technology. I think we have lost the effort some people use to go to to make clothes, and furniture etc like they did in the old days, in my pokemon world they have combined the two.

I really enjoy this one alot. (Mainly because I'm a rider in real life.) But HM Ride sounds awesome!

I always love the realism you put into these. But I have to say, in Western riding, the Horn isn't actually supposed to be used as a handle. If I remember right (it's been a while since I rode) It's just supposed to be for either the rope or the reigns. If you wanted to make handles on a saddle for stability at higher speeds, you might want to put them on the sides, since you'd want to lean forward and get your body closer to the animal. Like when jockeys lean forward during a race. ^.^

nice. are you gonna do strength, surf, waterfall (if you do what's stopping ppl from illegally using it to climb up to the pokemon league), dive, flash, whirlpool, rock climb, rock smash, and defog?

some dont need saddles or anything extra, they are just a move that become useful outside of battle, such as strength, flash, whirlpool. defog and waterfall.
They could easily climb the walls they simply would get arrested, cos thats called breaking and entering lol. The others ill come up with fun little gadgets to fit on the pokemon to use

You know, that leg positioning looks a little awkward. I fear the rider might be unable to walk after a ride.

would a saddle for pokemon like charizard, dragonite and aerodactyl be similar to fearow's or almost entirely different?

Every pokemon is different so every saddle would be different, i wont draw them all I'm just giving one example

i think this is cool looking. i remember when i was little i was playing blue version and i had a dodrio and i was on the bus and a kid came by when i was teaching it HM fly and the kid was like "what are you doing??? you cant fly on an ostrich (i think thats how u spell it) it defies the laws of nature!!" i taught it fly anyway and the kid couldnt believe it worked. he played the game also i guess. good times. anyway if i could ride any pokemon it would be (you can already guess this one josh) metagross, salamence, lapras, and there are probably a few others i might consider.

biologically Dodrio has a very complex design...you've taken a lot into consideration when drawing up this saddle, which makes it all the more impressive =]
