I wanted to redo the defcon picture I made, so here it is.Defcon- This refers to maximum readiness. It is not certain whether this has ever been used, but it is reserved for imminent or ongoing attack on US military forces or US territory by a foreign military power. Use of nuclear weapons is authorized.

A luanched ICBM (inter continental ballistic missile) heading for an unkown target. Just escaping a nuclear blast.
I got the idea from a game i recently found on the internet called "Defcon".
The ICBM in the picture is not an actual ICBM, i designed it myself (Titan III). I used Shade and Photoshop.

I have a half done render a bit like this myself (without the nukes in the bg), but I keep running into problems with the fire/smoke trails. Looks like you've got it just right tho.

I actually did the fire and smoke in Photoshop using pictures of explosions/smoke that I had taken a while back. Thanks

Ahh. I can't paint at all that way so I'm having to rely on volumetric effects for it.

Yeah, I tried making some explosions using volumetric but could never get it to work quite right, so good luck

The engine flame of the missile is not very realistic (too red and too smoky and lacks the perfectly formed plume the rocket engines have).
But hey, you either go for realism or for dramatism. And you've made a really great dramatic picture.
