Very nice detail, but just wondering, is that clay or wood or what?

Congrats on this piece being featured. It's well deserved.
I'm just stunned by all of the detail and little intricacies.

Did you set a plan to how you'd design this, or jump right into creating it?

It's like a unicorn currupted by the sea that swallowed it, becoming part of the coral an sea anemones. This is gorgious.

A steak knife? You win. Seriously. That's an artist using what he has on hand and rocking it.

I think the term you're looking for is ki-rin (or kilin) a form of Japanese unicorn (or air spirit or some such, anyway they named a beer after it).

ImAGirlNamedMichael In reply to hilstad [2008-11-20 20:45:30 +0000 UTC]

I don't think this is a ki-rin or a ki-lin...it has no scales. Those creatures tend to favor a scaly appearance.

Hey love your work, especially the dragon AZUL! Love the unicorn as well. Hope you keep churning them out (even if it is a few a year). I’ll try not to envy such talent but tis hard. All the best with your future work! Thanks for putting these up here.

I'm so glad someone else thought it was butter as well... Then I wondered how the heck did you sculp those little hairs with just a pin and a knife and then my brain started to hurt...

Nice job. Very masculin in the orginal tradition of virgin persuing unicorns and not so much the rainbow and pink ones of atrtests catering to 9 year old girls.
