Love the birds. They look so realistic and they give me the impression that they had a quarrel. Also awesome coloring, I can't believe this was done with watercolor. I suck at watercolor so I'm stunned by every good illustration done with watercolor. This definitely goes in my favorites. Keep up the good work!

I love how their brightly coloured plumage contrasts with the duller background! Really adorable, and gorgeous work!

This is so beautiful!
I would actually give critique, however, my talent is nowhere near yours, making me unworthy of critiquing you.
However, I just have to say that I really, really love this painting...
There is so much detail!
Wow!

This is a gorgeous watercolour. We have these birds in Australia too, called Rainbow Bee-eaters. My wife hand raised some from eggs many years ago, I love the trilly little bell call.
I love the precision with which you handle your watercolours, and yet still you manage to capture the huddled fluffiness of the birds character in the stormy setting. Great job!

Thank you so much, Ian, you are so very kind I sadly do not have these birds where i live in high desert Nevada, this was from a reference photo. It is so awesome that your wife got to hand raise some of these beauties, how fabulous!! It would be great if you had any photos of that, I would love to see them!! Do you by any chance have the Lilac Breasted roller over there? Those are some gorgeous birds also, I just adore birds

I couldn't find any photos of the Rainbow Bee-eaters, but here is a photo of her feeding a couple of half grown Rainbow Lorikeets. :thumb79588032:
The look beautiful and everything, but are kind of noisy and, well, pretty obnoxious actually.
Sorry it took so long to reply, it's a long weekend here so we've been out and about. : )
