Part 23: Favourite Ground TypeDedicated to Insectagon, the Flygon that I raised in ORAS. He's fast, versatile... not exactly the strongest but reliable enough. He has Earthquake, Outrage, Steel Wing and U-Turn. I remembered this species being pretty well-loved when RSE came out, but became less popular as time passed. It was pretty jack-of-all-trades, so not much love in the competitive field. Not helping was that its niche as a ground/dragon was filled by Garchomp who just hits harder and faster. And yes, when mega evolutions were a thing, I was one of those people who desperately wanted this guy to get one too. Something to give the species the boost that it needs with a just as cool design and was very disappointed when it never happened, while Garchomp got one. (Can you tell that I'm not fond of the Garchomp line?) I only hope that the Flygon will get some love in the future generations, it could regional variants or if Game Freak ever brings those concepts back, Z-moves or *cough* MEGA EVOLUTIONS.
Anyway, about the piece, going for a desert theme, because that's its obvious home field. However, to make it different from the Heliolisk piece, that also had a sandy theme, I remembered Trapinch waiting in holes to trap their preys, so why not add in a sand hole?
