The underground complexes are no different when it comes to the presence of spacial and dimensional anomalies. The upper levels closer to the surface, can still be easily traversed by conventional means. But as one descended further below, the layout of the cities became increasingly bizarre. Directional and gravitational orientations makes no absolute sense the lower one goes, eventually coming to a point where one would inevitably require to defy the laws of physics and employ supernatural will as means to traverse the complexes. It's as if reality becomes less and less coherent in the lower levels. It is unknown if there's a bottom at all. Some postulate it eventually leads to a null space of nothingness.
