And so we finally arrived at the purpose of our visit to the Capital. Here deep within the Prime Citadel, already present in the council chamber were a multitude of delegations, ministers, authorities, powers and dominions from all corners of the empire all gathered in the hall. Their hushed murmurs saturate the air like carrion flies buzzing about... monotonous, indistinct, and unintelligible.

At the very center of the chamber lay the highlight of the conclave. The pit in the middle, now filled with biomass, began to roil violently and emanate a deep red glow that eventually grew and illuminated a greater part of the chamber. And thus projection of spheres rose from the chaotic cauldron; no... they were simulations of worlds and realities. At the center lay the Homeworld no doubt. I was told by my interpreter that the Hierarchs have embarked on a mission to map the neighboring realities. They needed to find a suitable plane of reality; not just any... but containing worlds with sufficient biomass of a certain energetic signature. This is crucial for the survival of the empire of the Hierarch Ascendancy.

Across the darkness of the chamber, the Voidwalker spoke. The sight of him filled me with dread. He was noticeably taller and imposing than the rest present around him. His words reverberated and seem to drain the energy from the air, the chamber becoming noticeably cooler. He pointed to a sphere on the upper hemisphere of the Homeworld. The formations shifted, focusing on that one orb that now broke into perhaps, millions of tinier orbs, like droplets suspended in the air. The Voidwalker made another hand gesture once more, and the multitude of droplets coalesced onto a single one that separated, now revealing 9 smaller orbs orbiting a larger central one. It is a solar system I thought.

From where I stood, I could discern the details of the orbs that hung in the air. But something about them felt familiar. Like I've seen them before. The rest in the chamber lapsed into a session of brief discussion, that is until the Voidwalker moved forward and lifted his finger once more. This time the 3rd orb from the center came into focus. It took a few moments for it to click into my mind that the image I was staring right then was without a doubt, the EARTH! I could clearly discern the outline of the continents from our current geological era.

My blood froze instantly. I felt sick to my stomach. My head spun at the revelation before me... they are planning a massive trans-dimensional invasion, and their primary target... the world of humanity! Why?! No... I must warn the other envoys. Our mission here is finished. We must return to the portal and warn the Synod! They are coming!

I feel that this series is now slowly taking form. What if I were to tell you that many of the pieces from yesteryears in my Dark series are somehow connected to this? Most of them but not all. Also, I wish to mention that some parts of my Sci-Fi series are connected to this as well. Let's just say that this story is like a prequel to the existing pieces in my Dark series.
