Description
Pastel on Paper, 70cm X 50cm.Portrait of Jessie, also called Cat or Katt
WIP slide show can be found here --> [link]
A step away from my usual lack of props, which is because as I always maintain I work with my models, so the parasol and such where her idea of how she wanted to show herself.
I've recovered from the burnt out, I think its good
Updated photo now. Hopefully comes up better, its losing a lot through making it more smaller. Still have trouble with camera not dealing so well with the red against the grey blue background, but its closer.

Your best yet, in my humble opinion - lovely pose, composition, and interpretation of the person - not to mention a beautiful model.

well thank you, I like it, not setting the world on fire here, but that doesn't mean anything
Karen and myself took 1300 + photos of Miss Cat so there will be few more of her to come

well thanks
I've updated the image, but DA seems to flatten the colour a bit. [link] <-- is it on redbubble, comes up a bit better there.

You're very welcome!
The color-flattening has nothing to do with deviantART. You have to save the picture in sRGB mode with the ICC-profile embedded! And the color-reproduction depends also on the used Browser - Explorer, Safari and Firefox all show the colors differently And you cannot say how the monitior of your viewers is calibrated - you'll never be satisfied with the result!
Haven't heard abourt redbubble yet - will have to check it out!

have updated the image now, but DA seems to kill the colour off slightly.

Yeah, you've right, the colours are better in the linked image. But I think is normal this, but any way is a wonderful work! The next time you could edit a little bit the deviation in photoshop, with a contrast touch to exalt the image colours ^^...it's like an analogic picture, if you acquire the pic by a scanner the colours will killed, and photoshop it's ok, only for a better colours vision!!

that was kinda tricky to get oddly enough.
I've updated the image, DA flattens the colour a bit though.

Mais oui! You're a great painter, David- it's like you write poetry, but with a brush instead of a pen.

Really nice. I like the composition, the colours and how you didn't overdo it.
I bet the red of the parasol is throwing your photos off.

yeah I think you are right about that.
More better photo, but I find DA kills of some of it in the upload process.

It looks so much like her that I really thought at first you uploaded a photo!
The rich red really adds to the image.
Awesome job as always, Fish Man, whether you like it or not.
