You wanted a critique so here we go with a quick critique about this Sonic submission. I must say I really like this a lot, indeed. I totally love how this came out, this is probably how would be the title screen from the game if SEGA actually did this in their times. You totally got the old retro style from Sonic games.
Everything looks so well done. If I had to critique something from this, would be Death Egg's mustache, it didn't came out so well. Later, the SONIC letters does not seem to be in the correct position, they are nice and all, but needs a bit of more work to be correctly centered.
Once again, concept is really good and I would support this if had to be a model for a 4th Sonic game. Keep up the good work, this was an amazing deviation and I had to review/critique.

also it has an upgraded metal because he steals the master emerald(sega is so predictable)

Probably wut Sonic 4's title screen will look like in the future, minus metal sonic and mecha, but they should TOTALLY bring them both back (Metal Sonic is gonna be in Episode 2, maybe we may have a level where we face all past versions of metal, from silver to mecha to silver II ((unlikely)) to metal and maybe Neo metal as a final boss?)

16 bit sprites and graphics?
Dude, we are living in the year 2010 (yes, I know this was submitted a year ago) which is well out of the sprite years. Wanting the classic gameplay of Sonic intact I can perfectly understand but... 16 bit sprites and graphics?
If the classic gameplay were on par with the older games, would you really care if it used 3D graphics? Would that really bother you?

Yes as a bad 3D running animation like in sonic unleashed where his legs dont move fast enough for his speed is terribly off putting to me.
