I'm a 3D modeler myself, but I've not attempted Sonic characters yet due to their complexity.
I Had to question if it was ground up because it looks very close to official.

Well I spent about a month on Silver (his model only) which I could use a base for Shadow. Also my model is based of Sonic 06, and there aren't any official models available (they look terrible anyway, at least in-game).

hey, as long as you made the base from the ground up there's nothing wrong with using it for multiple models xD
I do that myself with Human models, infact I'm working on an actual base right now that I am going to be using as well... a base.
(I just hate hands and feet and want to avoid having to model them if I can. The rest of the human body isn't that hard for me. As long as it's female. Guys are 1000% harder for me.)

That's also one of the reasons I questioned if you made it. Because I've seen those models.
and the fact that the texturing or whatever it is you had to do to get Shadow's shoes to have those scratches/marks on them looks like it's from the opening of Shadows story and maybe the opening of Shadow the Hedgehog made me realize it had to be impossible that Sega made it.Β
