Intro

Yes, I’m back in the game! Well enough stalling, time to exercise my skills again!

Synopsis part 1

We start off in Ponyville at the new castle, you know the one that everyone got butt hurt over and started a petty petition over, yep, that one, where Twilight is trying to figure what the castle is for. Then as the main six sit in their seats, they glow and a map of Equestria appears. And que intro, oh and all they did is replace the library with the new castle, of course. Their cutie marks then start pulsing then actually turn into markers pointing out a certain location on the map. By the way, I compared it with the map of Equestria and as far as I can tell this town is somewhere a bit northeast of Neighagra falls. So they go on a train ride to that location and we get a funny Scout gag from Pinkie as she tumbles down they cliff, hides under some rocks, and gets crushed by a boulder, holy sh*t is she dead! No wait she's alive thank goodness. They come into town which turns out to be filled with pony's all with = signs for cutie marks, and creep smiles on their faces. Actually kinda makes sense for Pinkie to not trust these smiles seeing how putting smiles on faces is her thing. They then ask around for anything wrong and the ponies claim nothing is wrong with this town, and take them to meet the towns founder, Starlight Glimmer. Starlight then explains that everypony in town are equals in that nopony has any special talents to flaunt to each other, and if that bit of exposition wasn't enough we get a whole town song about it. After a little tour of the town the main six decide to have some muffins that's the only thing on the menu, seriously, it is. The cook Sugar Belle then notices that the group are getting along well despite their differences then quitely tells them to meet up with her. So they do decide to meet up with Sugar Belle but Twilight feels as they they're being watched, besides the creepy smiling towns ponies so they come up with a plan, have Pinkie eat all the muffins so they could logically ask Sugar Belle for some more aka get some answers. This would be a piece of cake if the muffins didn't taste so horrible, you know it's horrible when they can make even Pinkie get sick, poor Pinkie. They all go into Sugar Belle's basement including an overweight sick Pinkie and are met by Sugar Belle and two other ponies. By the way, Pinkie sure lost weight really fast, must have a super high metabolism or something. They then tell the main six that they actually miss their cutie marks and that they're kept in a cave vault of some sort and so they decide to check it out. So I assume they just ask Starlight Glimmer to take them there, I say assume since the next scene just skips over to Starlight Glimmer leading them there. They enter the cave and see the vault as well as the alledged staff of saneness that's said to remove the cutie marks. Starlight then ask how they knew about the vault to which Pinkie let's it slip that some pony who missed their cutie mark told them. They are then ambushed by the towns people and thus Starlight removes and stores their cutie marks into the vault and. And end of part 1.

Synopsis part 2

Continuing from where we left of the main six now sporting the = sign cutie marks are trapped in a room that I assume is some kind of rehibilitation center include with an intercom telling them the good things about being cutiemarkless equals. Those new = sign cutie marks also seems to prevent them from doing anything that makes them different, Rarity isn't sure of tackiness, Fluttershy can't understand birds, Pinkiepie gets dulled out whenever she starts to get all cheery, and Applejack has trouble talking in her country slang and I'm also guessing she's lost her applebucking strength as she can't break the door down. Twilight spends some of the time pondering the staff as she claims that she's heard of it, being that there are 8 magical items and the staff is supposedly the 9th. Then some more time later Twilight has an idea of how to escape, pretend to accept their philosophy. However all of them would be suspicious so they decid to just have Fluttershy do it as she's being so accepting of their ways thus the one they'd believe the most. Starlight then lets them out with the townsfolk outside and tells the ponies that they'll later accept their philosophy. As Starlight excorts them back in Fluttershy goes with the plan and tells them she'd like to join them. Starlight accepts her but then ask who told her that they missed their cutie mark, Party favor, one of the three ponies then confesses to spare the other two ones and thus gets sent into rehibilitation with the rest of the main six. Starlight then excorts Fluttershy to a house, then later that night Fluttershy sneaks out through the chimney and spies on Starlight out the window. She then finds that Starlight is keeping their cutiemarks close to her in jars and that her = sign cutiemark is fake as she's using makeup to cover her real cutie mark. The next morning Starlight let's the others out asking if any of them want to join them, none of them say anything so are escorted back in then Fluttershy says she wants to be the one to lock them in. Party Favor then comes out joining them again, then Twilight also says she'd like to join, and as they talk Fluttershy exposes Starlight's cutiemark with a bucket of water leaving the whole town shocked, she then reveals that the staff that removes their cutiemarks was fake and that it's her own magic that makes it possible, she they makes a run for it and everypony else goes to the vault to get their cutiemarks back, except the main six as Starlight has their's with her. The towns ponies then break into the vault shattering it open and thus returning the whole town's cutiemarks to their owners, they then give chase to Starlight whose trying to escape, and by the way, Party Favor can make a balloon binoculars that actually work, wait what?! Even makes a balloon bridge to replace the one Starlight destroyed in her escape attempt but is eventually stopped by Double Diamond who though his skiing talent buries her in snow causing her to drop the jars, break them open, and returns the main six's cutiemarks. Starlight then attacks with her magic but is blocked by Twilight's magic. However in a flash Starlight escapes, but thankfully the town is saved. The town then holds a festival and the main six's cutiemarks start pulsing again probably meaning they accomplished their mission and the episode ends with them enjoying their short stay in the town.

Problems

I don’t know if it’s just the lack of seeing episodes for such a long time but I don’t have any problems with these episodes.

Praises

I have to say this is, quite a different kind of opener, the villain more a regular pony with nothing really super natural about her. A moral about everyone being unique. And this time the main six are rescued! Also, Starlight Glimmer gets away, that's the first time a villain actually escapes to plot another day. Usually they're either reformed, banished, or in one case killed. So I'm guessing we'll be seeing her later on.
