this is amazing! did you use some kind of stencil tool to make this?

Thank you ! And this is just a 'flame fractal' done with Apophysis software, maths and recursion. Nothing else used here.

Don't feel stupid, Everybody's not fond of maths and really understand what fractal mean

I'll try to explain a bit more :
Fractals uses some recursive means to create images. Think about a math formula (like 'increment x by one' (x=x+1)) and think about doing this again and again and again. If you could use this to create an image, you'll have a line (draw one pixel, move 1 pixel, draw one pixel...). No you can imagine more complex formulas using some moving, scaling, shearing, rotating, ... in 2D or 3D space. then you have a recursive loop that can create an image - that we call a 'fractal' because you can loop again and again endlessly, and every loop will modify the image.

Apophysis is a software that let you see the result of some of these processes without having to think about the mathematics .

All the DA fractal gallery is suppposed to be the result of these kind of programs that let maths be translated to images, where the artist tweak the parameters, colors, formulas... to create art pieces.

I hope it's clearer as I'm not confortable explaining things, and even less in english .

Thank you very much ! It was only a step when I worked on the 'Mesh', but I wanted to make it worth submitting, and the color working made it all.

You have very control of color on the white Apo's. Very nice!

Thank you ! I love 'white' flames, or at least clear ones (I love the 'paper' slightly colored background to change from the white, you may have noticed )

Ooh, pretty and wispy! The one looks a bit like a Spirograph...

Thank you, I spent a lot of time on the Spirograph in my youth, even if I don't have any trace of it... It would be cool to find some of my 'art' again (oh and can you explain 'wispy' to me in other words ? my english's not as fluent as I wish it could be).

First, I have a spirograph!
And "wispy" means fine and delicate, like hair or feathers.
