Description Since my illustration class is keeping me so busy and unable to really work on any larger paintings, I thought I'd share some of the work I've been doing for it.

We've been working on a sensuality project within the context of the human body, though we were told to follow any "lines of enquiry" (as our tutor puts it) in our sketchbooks, whether they relate to the body or not.

I've mostly been drawing tree roots in white ink (my latest obsession), fascinated by their curvy, twisted form and the possibility of what could be hidden underneath.

This particular drawing is one of my favourites from my sketchbook, drawn using watercolours and white ink with a little pencil. A5 size.

The title is a shortened version of a Bright Eyes song it brings to mind - Oh, You Are The Roots That Sleep Beneath My Feet And Hold The Earth In Place

Excellent Work!

If you like white ink you should try Prowhite. It's way more opaque, but able to be thinned since it's a hardcore watercolor. Also it doesn't junk up in the bottom like white ink has a habit of doing.

You should upload more of you're classwork, I'm sure everybody wants to know what you're up to. All the Best!

Thank you, that sounds great... the ink I'm using at the moment often requires several layers to reach the desired opacity. Obviously it's nice when I want a somewhat more transparent feel. The clogging is an issue too.

I'll get some more scans/photos up soon. I might stick them in the scraps...though I'm in the process of setting up a little blog for my sketches, odd little bits, and general thoughts about art. Hmm.

Let me know if/when you get your blog set up. You're quite elusive!
All the Best!

Thank you, I've come across a few of her works before and always loved them, so that's a huge compliment.
