Aboard The Warship

“Master, what are we to do now?” Kaiser asked Lord Bagan as he knelt before the fallen titan, whose answer was, “We continue with our invasion, Kaiser. The Vortaak may have fallen, but the Cryog forces are still plentiful for our needs.” He then smiled. “And you shall play a most grand, and honorable role in the days to come.”

“You do me great honor, my lord.” Kaiser said.

“Indeed. But for now, we have business to deal with. Now that the Vortaak Ship has been downed, our enemies will seek to exploit this newfound advantage for themselves. I am sending you and Orga to defend the ship, and request aid from our mutant allies. That ship is too valuable to us …...for now.”

“Should we go in, Seiki?” Tristan asked his mate. “You know: to make sure the aliens are down for the count?”

“I’m not sure, Tristan.” Godzilla said. “Shooting down the ship should’ve put the fight out of them. I can’t find a reason to go into that thing.”

“I can.” Kiryu said. “I’ve been monitoring the ship since it went down. And i’ve noticed strange energy fluctuations coming off of it - none of it good. I think the ship’s going into overload. If that’s the case, then the entire craft will explode….”

“Well, that doesn’t sound too bad.” Tristan said.

“Taking everything for hundreds of miles out with it.”

“That sounds really bad.”

“We can’t let that happen.” Godzilla said firmly. “We’ll have to find the source of this energy overload, and take it out ourselves.”

“Agreed. After that, we should destroy the ship so that Bagan can’t use it anymore. Plus, it’ll give us a chance to cripple Bagan’s invasion even further.” After a few moments, Tristan began making his way towards the ship. “Okay, then let’s go!” He exclaimed, earning looks from his fellow giants. With no other choice, either way, the two followed behind, and made their way to the Warship.

The interior of the ship was once again far different from the last ship Godzilla had been aboard. For one thing, there was a large tower where the “arena” used to be. But the portion of the ship they had entered was completely demolished, and submerged in the bay. This left the whole vessel stuck in a permanent slant. Yet it was still fully functional, despite the damage. This did not bode well for our monster heroes.

“Hard to believe this thing still works, even after what happened to it.” Tristan said.

“Don’t underestimate Vortaak tech.” Kiryu said. “It’s alot more advanced than most of Earth’s tech. Even so, we have to ensure this ship doesn’t wipe San Francisco off the map. See those purple, glowing nodes on the walls?” He pointed out. “Those are the generators. Take them out, and the whole ship shuts down.”

“Purple nodes, got it.” Godzilla said. “You ready, Tristan?”

The reptile nodded, and the two prepared to destroy the closest node. But then four gravity bolts fired at their feet, and stopped them in their tracks. To their dismay, both Kaiser and Orga had appeared out of nowhere, and were ready for a fight. “By order of the Emperor, none may lay claim to the vessel that is his property!” Kaiser declared. Kiryu then fired some missiles at the duo, but they were simply shrugged off. Orga roared in challenge to the mecha, who said, “Kaiser, wait! This ship is about to overload any minute now! If you stay, you’ll get caught in the blast, and die!”

“Pardon me if I don’t buy into such pathetic attempts at deception.” Kaiser said. “This ship is under my jurisdiction. And to ensure that it remains that way, my master has procured the aid of a powerful ally you all are familiar with.” Almost as if on cue, a beam of purple energy nearly knocked over the group as Thanatos flew in. Roaring his horrific roar as he approached the battleground. He landed with a heavy thud, and let the ship shake from the force of the impact. He then looked to Godzilla, and said, “Despite the grievance of my last encounter with the skeletal creature, your death is the only true satisfaction I desire.”

Suddenly, a stream of white atomic energy appeared, and blasted Thanatos in the face, making him shriek in pain. All turned to see Ghost Godzilla marching onto the ship. “The only satisfaction to come will be from YOUR death, demon!” he roared, before turning to the others, and saying, “Do what you must: but the demon is mine.” He then charged, and began a vicious clash with the Destoroyah. With a nod from Kaiser, Orga attacked the others. Tristan, and Kiryu challenged the hulking atrocity. This left Godzilla to deal with Kaiser alone. “So...no robots, and no bugs to deal with us?”

“We do not need the MGs, or Trilopods to dispatch you.” Kaiser said.

“As long as you don’t mind blowing up when this ship does.”

“We will see.”

Both fired their signature attacks at the same time, and got into a brief struggle that ended in a powerful explosion. The fighters were unharmed, though mildly stunned. But after they shook it off, the two charged into one another, and got into a claw, and fist fight. Godzilla swiped at Kaiser with his claws, but his blows were sometimes dodged or blocked. As were Kaiser’s fists, as the two proved equally matched/ To even things up, Godzilla tried to trip him with his tail, only for Kaiser to backflip over his tail. But he was met by a direct Atomic Ray to the face that pushed him back several meters. He retaliated with his Gravity Beams, which caused some pain to Godzilla.

All the while, Zilla and Kiryu were having a hard time with Orga, and his brute strength. And Ghost Godzilla was at a standstill with Thanatos, as the both of them once again proved to be equally matched. At one point, Thanatos picked up Ghost, and hurled him across the cityscape with titanic strength. Ghost was buried under tons of rubble when he finally stopped crashing through them. Thanatos stomped on over to the stunned kaiju, who slowly broke through the weight on his body. “I hope that you didn’t think i’d forgotten our last encounter, and how it ended.” Thanatos said angrily.

“My only mistake was leaving you in pieces.” Ghost said with a scowl. “This time, i’ll make sure that nothing remains of you to regenerate.”

“Doubtful, when I will be proving all of the doubters wrong that you CAN die twice.”

Yet before he could make a move, something fired into his back with great force. Ghost growled, and shouted, “Who dares interfere with-” but stopped when he looked up into the sky. When a familiar, bell-like roar sounded off, it drew everyone’s attention. And all were shocked at the sight of a familiar, three-headed dragon who appeared more machine than kaiju. Yet Godzilla recognized it easily. “King Ghidorah!”

Yet this was not the same Ghidorah he encountered 20 years ago. This was a completely different creature than the clone creature in that it was now a cyborg. Both its wings, and middle head were completely replaced, there were claws at the end of its tails and its torso was covered in armor, same as its lower legs. It was a perfect blend of flesh, and machinery. And right now, it was firing on Thanatos with a Triple Laser from its middle head, and gravity bolts from its outer heads. The attack actually seemed to phase the demonic kaiju, and pushed him away from Ghost Godzilla, and letting him slip away.

Godzilla took the distraction time to blast Kaiser away, just as Tristan tripped Orga. They regrouped with Kiryu, and Ghost Godzilla, and watched in shock as the Ghidoran cyborg kept Thanatos at bay. Kiryu, however, was curious about this cyborg monster. “MKG? What is it doing here?” Godzilla turned to him, and asked, “You know what that thing is?” Kiryu nodded, and said, “It’s the Ghidoran clone we fought 20 years ago, and that you all but destroyed. The GDF wanted to use another of Bagan’s weapons against him should his empire attack again. So Goro Ibuki reverse-engineered more of the Vortaak tech to turn the brain dead clone into a cyborg. Now Mecha King Ghidorah fights on our side.”

Godzilla gave a skeptical look when he turned to see MKG firing at the 3 evil kaiju, while causing intense destruction. He was worried about the implications behind turning the Heisei Ghidorah into a cyborg. But as he watched the cyborg hold its own against its opponents, with a forcefield that repelled all of the kaiju’s attacks, he reluctantly saw the merit in the cyborg’s existence. All three of them were now fighting MKG together, yet his forcefield and energy beams managed to keep them at bay. “I don’t trust this idea…..but if that thing’s really on our side, then so be it.”

“Good, because we need to shut down this ship now.” Kiryu said, reminding the group of their dilemma.

With a nod, Godzilla went forth to destroy the energy nodes. Meanwhile, Kaiser, Thanatos and Orga were still struggling against the cyborg kaiju. Kaiser’s punches only pushed MKG back a few meters before he was kicked away. Orga charged up his shoulder cannon, and fired at MKG, only for him to deflect the attack with his shield, and then give Orga a tailed uppercut. Thanatos finally managed to blast MKG with his OD Ray, but it had little effect on the synthetic diamond armor. The cyborg then pushed MKG back with his beams, before snagging Thanatos on a hidden contraption that caught him around the waist, while his wrists and ankles were caught by smaller machine claws. He then received thousands of volts flowing through his body, stunning him in place.

When Kaiser finally came to his senses, he saw Godzilla move to a certain position in the ‘city’, and charged up his atomic ray. When he fired, he struck the first node, and destroyed it. “No!” he exclaimed as he quickly rose to his feet, and tried to attack him. But he was held back by Kiryu, Tristan, and Ghost Godzilla. By the time he managed to evade the trio, it was too late. Godzilla reached the other nodes, and destroyed them. To Kaiser’s fury, the power to the whole ship went out, and left the warship powerless. Godzilla snorted in satisfaction, seeing his work was now done. He then turned to Kaiser, and said, “You’re next.”

By this time, MKG released a weakened Thanatos, and joined the four kaiju to surround the skeletal kaiju. His fists clenched in anger as he realized he was bested. With a growl, he said, “You may have won this time, freak, but this is only the beginning! The war continues!” He then blasted between Kiryu and Tristan, and ran for his two comrades. He then sent a command to the Cryog, and had them teleport the 3 of them back to Egypt. Ghost snorted in disdain, and said, “Cowards.”

“Maybe,” Godzilla said, “but at least we stopped them. That’s all that matters.”

“Indeed.” Kiryu said. “Still, we can’t leave this ship sitting around for Bagan to try, and reclaim control.”

“Then it’s time for some major demolition.” Tristan said.

Several minutes later, and the entire Vortaak Warship went up in a massive ball of flame. It was smaller than it would have been had more power been allowed to build within it. But by combining their attacks as one, the kaiju, and mecha were able to annihilate the warship with little to no serious consequences. When it was done, MKG immediately took off to combat the alien threat around the planet. “Well, he was in a hurry.” Tristan said.

“MKG’s just following his programming.” Kiryu said. “Hopefully, it keeps him on our side, or we’re in big trouble.”

“So you’re skeptical about that thing, too?” Godzilla asked.

“Of course. I’m no fool….but I trust Tanaki, and Ibuki, so i’m giving them the benefit of the doubt. But now I have to go: there are still Antilocks, Mutants and Bagan’s forces to deal with. Take care of yourselves.” He then activated his rockets, and took off to his next destination. With the fight over, Ghost Godzilla simply made his way out to sea, and readied to leave. Godzilla noticed, and exclaimed, “Fiercen, wait!” This made the gojiran pause for a moment. “I know you want revenge for what happened to you, but you don’t have to fight Thanatos alone. You could join us: help us to defeat Bagan, and the evil monsters. With your help, we could finally defeat them - together.”

For a while, Ghost Godzilla said nothing, before he finally gave his brother a backward glance, and saying, “Fiercen died a long time ago. I am all that is left. And the path I walk is a path I walk alone.” He then looked out to sea. “However, that does not mean I will discount the aid of comrades….such as you.” He then sank beneath the waves, and returned to the depths of the sea. Leaving a somber Godzilla, and his mate behind all the while.

The former left wondering if his brother would ever find peace.
