Description Welcome to part 8 of my voice cast list. I'm sure alot of you will enjoy this next one, as well. But let's first delve into it, and see.

Spacegodzilla: David Kaye (Megatron from "Beast Wars") - How i always wondered who would be a most fitting pick for voicing Spacegodzilla. And as i learned more, and more of him, and seen the numerous depictions of him which were different in some aspects, yet still retained a something which made them similar, the decision came easy. And it was all thanks to this that i decided to go with another well-known voice actor who may have voiced the character Megatron longer than even Frank Welker. I speak only of the man we know as David Kaye. But specifically for his role as Megatron, leader of the Predacons, perpetrator of the Beast Wars, and he who succeeded where all of his counterparts (with the exception of G1, perhaps): the total, and complete conquest of Cybertron. Megatron was a suave, eccentric, cunning, and manipulative villain who always played the long game of deception, and used EVERYONE to get it: even if it meant abusing, or wiping out his own men to do it. He was basically what you would consider the transformers equivalent of a james bond villain - or even Professor James Moriarty of the Sherlock Holmes franchise. A sophisticate brute who delights in his dastardly schemes, and when he tries, is one step ahead of his enemies. Spacegodzilla is of similar distinction. While King Ghidorah is the greatest enemy of the Godzilla family, Spacegodzilla is the true antithesis of his illegitimate sibling, Godzilla jr, and his foil. Whereas Godzilla jr is a warrior who trust, and cares for his friends, and will fight with all he has to keep others safe, Spacegodzilla has no attachments, and no regard for anyone other than himself. He is also many times smarter, and craftier than Godzilla, and also has the potential of incredible strength, and power. And he's a manipulator of the classic caliber. Just look at Godzilla: Unleashed: However you take it, he was responsible for that calamity as both a means of escaping to earth - and obtaining his rightful place as a TRUE god. I could keep going, but to put a long story short, he has quite a bit in common with BW Megatron. A role that David Kaye fully realized, and that basically set his career so positively. He would be more than fitting for the role of the bastard son of the king, and the Crystal Tyrant.

Destoroyah: Jonathan Adams (Atrocitus from "Green Lantern: The Animated Series") - Of the many enemies Godzilla has to contend with, Destoroyah may be the most fearsome, and destructive enemy he's had to fight. And from what we've seen, his persona varies from a vicious, and spiteful sadist who enjoys watching other suffer in different ways. Or he's pretty much a berserker without any sign of restraint. In "The Kaiju Chronicles of War", he's a mix of both, but with a hint of intelligence that keeps him from being just another simple, mindless monster. And for some reason, his character reminded me of someone else. Someone who was an embodiment of Rage itself, though he was not enslaved to its influence - at least no completely. The character in question is Atrocitus from the Green Lantern TAS, played by Jonathan Adams. Jonathan Adams has a very imposing voice, and manages to give a masterful performance to Atrocitus. Atrocitus, as leader of the Red Lantern Corps, who embody rage, is an imposing figure whose every motion, every word, and every actions i dripping with endless hate. And yet it isn't the roaring, snarling hatred: but a more refined, focused, yet still loud, and ferocious rage fitting of a powerful ruler. One who lives for revenge against the Green Lanterns, and will do anything it takes to get what he desires: even ruining the lives of specific individuals so they can embrace their hate/rage, and become a Lantern. He is as imposing as he is unpredictable. And in many aspects, he shares alot in common with Destoroyah - who is also quite unpredictable in whatever he does. And of the many actors out there, none are able to bring out the composed hatred that Jonathan Adams is able to portray as Atrocitus. And as Destoroyah, he is most likely to make us face our destruction in a rather unpleasant manner.

Krystalak: Robert Atkin Downes (Baron Zemo from"Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes") - In the smallest amount of time he ever appeared, Krystalak has become something of a cult favorite. And thanks to everyone in the fandom, he has an established persona as a character: he's a sneaky bastard who enjoys fighting dirty, and is close to the kaiju equivalent of a classic villain. Fitting, given he's the creation of Spacegodzilla. And after a while, i had the pleasure of imagining what the perfect voice acting choice for a guy like him would be. And that someone turned out to be Robert Atkin Downes, who many of you will know especially as the medic from TF2 (god bless that game). But he's also been in a number of shows, and games. One of the most prominent being Avengers EMH, and one of its long-running main antagonists, Baron Zemo. Like Krystalak, Zemo is a cunning, and intelligent villain who uses any tactic he can use in order to achieve victory. Basically, he's also a dirty fighter. And he has very little consideration for others around them, and will use them for his own ends. I imagine Krystalak would be the same if he were in an alliance of some sort. But how Atkins portrays Zemo is an impressive display, as he channels the persona of a calculating, manipulative, cunning, ruthless, back-stabbing villain to the most incredible degree. If there was anyone i would ever pick to play as Krystalak, it's definitely him.

Megaguirus: Laura Bailey (Lust from the Fullmetal Alchemist franchise) - I imagine i may end up getting alot of confusion for this one. Like why i didn't pick Laura Bailey to voice someone like Biollante, or even Queen Legion. But i can assure you, that i found her voice alot more fitting for Megaguirus than any other. Especially if she were channeling the Homonculus Lust. Lust being a very cruel example of a lifeform who takes silent pleasure in watching others suffer and die. And seem to have a mentality that has her look down on others. Like she's top tier, and she knows it - even though she isn't even Pride. But she's also fast, and deadly, and hard to handle in a fight. You know who else is like that? Megaguirus. Only she's a bit more expressive in her enjoyment of inflicting others with misery, and pain, as we all saw in her fight with Godzilla. But unlike Lust, she doesn't use good looks, and an effeminate frame to help her. She simply has what makes Lust dangerous in her own right: dangerous speed, and natural blades to cut through even Godzilla's flesh. She's just a bit more ruthless in doing so. And yet Laura Bailey is good at depicting such emotions in her performance, as is why she does so well as Lust. With that in mind, it stands to reason it would also make Megaguirus an even more memorable character to enjoy. Assuming she doesn't stab anyone in the crotch - on PURPOSE!Β

Great castings I must say. Did you notice that my Megaguirus casting is more of a witch?

So, with David Kaye voicing SpaceGodzilla, does that mean that he has a God Complex and with hisΒ manner of saying "Yesss..." like Megatron does in Beast Wars?

He MIGHT slip into saying that on a rare occasion. But he's ALWAYS had a bit of a god complex. Don't forget who and what SG is.

Exactly what i said: if he's allied with others, he might only remain with them so long as it benefits him. And that varies, depending on the situation.

I think it depends on the depiction. I mean, my version IS quick to anger, but he isn't a slave to it like most kaiju. He keeps a good handle on it so he doesn't just eviscerate someone without reason.

kahnac In reply to trey42399 [2018-03-15 22:02:11 +0000 UTC]

Indeed. Which is important when you're trying to emulate an animated series, and make the characters CHARACTERS - instead of actors, as toho describes them. This is the kaiju's story, and as such they get as much characterization as they can get.

Hmm. I haven't had a chance to make a classification for categories. But i'd definitely say he's in the warrior category, which is usually under the one which depicts the planetary threats. AKA the god-level threats, like Godzilla, and Ghidorah.
