I love this pair up. Army wise, they're as even as they can get. Shadow Lord has the Vraal, but Teridax has the Rahkshi. Shadow lord (maybe? I'm not sure if they're just wild) has the Terreocti and Teridax has visorak. Shadow Lord has Grey Guards and Teridax has the Manas. The only advantage I can give to the Shadow Lord is through the Ak Baba, which are DRAGON KILLERS, and the Old, because duh, but, you know, there's probably a rah or something and, well, they're all made of metal. In a straight out fight, we haven't really seen the shadow lord fight, but I'm sure it would be even. Teridax would never tire, and I doubt the shadow lord would get himself has such weakness. Teridax was able to outlast Icarax, the greatest and strongest warrior in the brotherhood, after fighting for days, and didn't even punch him. The shadow lord... Has no real equal so its hard to compare. And then theres the rahkshi powers and the shadow lords magic. Another one I'm too dumb to compare.
I feel Teridax would win, simply because while the Shadow Lord has back-up plans for every loss, Teridax has them but never needs them. He plans for everything. He was able to kill off every member of his species, planned every defeat, not counter measures if he lost, he planned to lose. While the Shadow Lord has planned to conquer an entire continent, Teridax has usurped the god of his universe. The only reason he lost was because he achieved his ultimate goal. He won. He didn't need plans after that, he could just kill anyone with a thought.
I would love to see that though. Two being that plan thousands of years in advance... that would be amazing.

Actually, the Terreocti just come off as wild animals following their natural instincts. Though, the Shadow Lord is indirectly responsible for making them the apex predators of the Shifting Sands due to his Ak-Baba killing the Lapis-Lazuli dragons save for Fortuna. Makuta Teridax actually controlled the Rahi using corrupted Kanohi.

Ah, good point. And lets not forget the Makutas inherent Rahi control power. Thank you for bringing that up.

I vote Shadow Lord.
It's immortal, and never, ever, ever physically seen or confronted.

Yeah, but here's the thing, Teridax has plans within plans within plans within plans as in, he has a strategy for everything even to the point he knows when, where, how, and why he's going to lose a fight.

The name "Shadow Lord" doesn't refer to him having power over shadow. We never actually learns why he is called so, though it began with Deltorans calling him "the Lord of Shadows." He is an immortal being, more an it than a he by now, originally a human, or part Fellan part human sorcerer. He uses dark magic and is just as cunning as the Makuta. If fighting inside the GSR, or if Makuta had control of it in their fight, the Makuta would surely win, but without it I am
not so sure. He'd either eventually get crushed or escape. Another outcome would be them joining forces, but only to use each other.

By the way, no Makuta can survive getting their body destroyed. That is a common misconception. The Antidermis that makes up their body have to leave the body before it is destroyed. If it does not, it, and the Makuta, dies with the body. That is what happened to Teridax when the head of the GSR was hit by the fragment of Aqua Magna.

Jeez...that's a damn tough one...the Shadow Lord probably has the edge by nature, though. Honorable draw. They're both just too damn smart, and too damn powerful. Seriously, someone tell me any chessmasters better than them (except possibly Palpatine).

Teridax is capable of coming up with back-up plans for back-up plans for back-up plans for back-up plans for back-up plans. Besides, I doubt he and Malverlain (yes, that is the Shadow Lord's real name) would get along anyway. As Teridax says "I have no allies. For I have no equals."

I'd say that Teridax is better at planning on his feet. To be fair to the Shadow Lord, the primary reason that he doesn't is because his schemes were so neatly fitted together and fell into place as soon as the first one failed.

He wasn't destroyed, basically Takanuva just had temporary control of their combined bodies. Plus he wan't as bad@$$ as he was supposed to be in the movies cause it was advertised to the younger fans. Anyway any time they destroy his physical body, he just comes back even stronger!

Duly noted. However, as I stated, The Shadow Lord has developed its dark powers so far that you cannot call it 'he' anymore. It is patient, and a mastermind when it comes to planning. If one fails, then you're caught in the web of three others. And if they fail, then there are more already in production. It will never surrender, and it learns from every mistake.

But he was still destroyed in the end. The Shadow Lord is still alive at the end of the Deltora Books, and when you read its origins in Tales of Deltora and the Three Door's trilogy, you see the full scope of its potential. I can't list all its powers, as many of them were never shown in the books. However, from what was given, I still stand by the Shadow Lord. But only from the books; the TV Shadow Lord was pathetic.

And that's what's called bad writers, or rather exchanging a good writer with a retarded one who can't seem to grasp the consent of continuity. Teridax's physical body was broken several times and he just kept coming back stronger than last time, so even if Mata Nui smashing his head into a moon rendered the giant god bod obsolete his essence would just leak out and find a new body and 'cause Mata Nui sacrificed himself, there'd be no one else who could stop Teridax. Unfortunately Lego ended there longest running and most successful series on a huge plot hole, just because they were not attracting new audiances because the series became to complicated for the younger audience. They could have handed the story off to D.C who did the comics for the Bionicle series to keep the fans happy, but instead they gave us a rushed end and a new series about retarded robot power rangers.

I think what we can gather from this is that both beings are incredibly powerful, and a battle between the two would be catastrophic. So, how about we settle for a draw?

Cyber-Hand In reply to Bysthedragon [2014-10-11 16:07:01 +0000 UTC]
I agree that both of them are very powerful. As much as I would love to say Makuta wins hands down, it really depends on the time and place of the battle. If it were just a single one on one fight with no help and only their abilities. Contrary to what many believe the shadow lord does have a body, Lief sees it near the end of his journey. He seems to need it otherwise he would have discarded it a while ago. If this is the case then he and Terridax have the same weakness in which they need a body to store their essence. Now we haven't ever seen the shadow lord fight in person and his destructive abilities are vague at best. So it would be impossible to call this.
If the Terridax tried to invade the shadowlands by himself. He would get quite far as his armor and abilities to dodge, heal, and have near invulnerability would make it very, very difficult for the shadowlord's forces to hurt him.
On the flip side the shadowlord trying to take destral by himself would be met by the most powerful force in the matoran universe. But once again is impossible to determine due to the little we know about him.
If the armies of both nations collided I am placing my money on destral. Rahkshi and visorahk would overwhelm forces such as greyguards and vraal.
Up until now I have been going off Teridax not in control of the Matoran universe. This is because the shadowlord would not stand a chance against him in matanui's body. Matanui's giant robot body stands at 40 million feet high. (12 192 kilometres) the diameter of the earth is 41 804 462 feet. (12 742 km) meaning his fists are the size of continents and he could push a planet into the nearby sun.

Honestly I don't know much about the shadowlord, but from what I've heard in this the two of them seem pretty to be pretty match to eachother in power and armies, so I think It would come down to a battle of who's the better strategist, as though they were playing a game of chess. In Teridax's favor strategy is one of his strongest suits, planning for every feasible possibility, and if one plan fails he already has a new web of backup plans pre-planned
