It had strong female characters (Mothra, Madison, Ilene etc).
Themes regarding Nature and humanity’s relationship with it.
A morally gray human antagonist (actually, make that two).
Epic flying scenes.
Awesome visuals.
An awesome quote which subtly tells a moral lesson (”Sometimes the only way to heal our wounds, is to make peace with the demons who created them.”)
