I always feel like the first step to starting a good story is to make a front cover that pleases you. Somehow it just sets the tone and to me feels like a good kickoff. This is one of a handful of graphic novels on the temporary back burner, but this one has been brewing for a long time and hopefully in the near future we'll be seeing it manifest.It's an original Kaiju story featuring my own kaiju creation, Koriiga, a giant monster that only lives in old Japanese movies and comics, and is loved by a mentally challenged girl named Angora who cherishes him as her greatest hero....but is he only fictional? Well obviously not or else it would be a really boring story. Stay tuned someday and with good fortune we'll be seeing Angora get off the ground.

Looks pretty good. It's the less is more approach, but it works a lot better when you are tying to create something that is not known to a whole lot of people. Fan stuff with monsters and heroes that are used by a million other people...those types of covers only work when you put in a ton of stuff in it. Look at any modern day comic cover from marvel.
But it is these types of covers, like the one here, that usually draws my attention. It flat out tells a single story with the image. It's not just a bunch of random stuff going on. It is a singular thought that leaves little room for misinterpretation.

You continue to impress me with your ability to be the soul of expressive insights, dude XD But seriously, THANK YOU. This kaiju story means a lot to me....and I mean a LOT, probably more than any of the Godzilla fan comics because there is a story there. My biggest comrade in the fandom all my life has been my little brother....who is heavily mentally challenged, but he loves Godzilla like his best friend, like how a 5 year old worships his hero with complete and utter commitment, and this story is designed with him specifically in mind. So it is personal, and when it eventually gets going I want it to be good in honor of that dedication if not for the sake of the art and the story.

It's where the regular mouth is. It's a little hard to explain, but the concept in the design was that it kind of "folded in" so it would be almost invisible to the naked eye when closed. Hopefully the actual panel progression in the pages will show what I mean better than I can explain it

Pretty awesome concept, and a nice, simple, kaiju design. Strangely, if Koriiga wasn't real, it would make this story have a good psychological thriller/drama type of vibe.

Agreed, but I just can't help myself wanting to make the monster action real and pose a "real" threat to the protagonists
