Taking a break for a little while from the comic work because between a full time job, full time classes and life, it's safe to say I'm burned out. All my artwork this week has been purely for recreation and mental relief, including this one, which has become something kind of special to me.
There's a fantastic and lovely voice actress named Katie Leigh, who even though she's not a household name has been in an awful lot of things people my age especially have loved. She provided voices for the Smurfs, Pound Puppies, Alvin and the Chipmunks, My Little Pony, Dungeons and Dragons, Totally Spies, Muppet Babies and a slew of other things, but the most meaningful and beloved for me was her role of Connie on the Adventures in Odyssey radio show, and watching the original My Little Pony with my wife we both agreed she was pretty adorable as Fizzy. But as Connie, Katie managed to do a couple of things that is pretty rare for an actress to really do well; she inspired me to be a better person, in my daily life, in my faith and just in general. She's made me laugh harder and cry harder than a lot of people tend to portraying fictional characters, and when I contacted her to present her with this very picture she was an absolute sweetheart, which is also a special blessing for me.
So with love, respect and appreciation my wife and I dedicate this one to Katie. You're the best!
