I eagerly awaited for this beautiful baby boy for about 7 to 8 months after I pre-ordered it because Rodan is one of my all-time favorite kaiju and I love how he looked in KOTM, so you can imagine I was a little frustrated when I tried to carefully open the toy out of the box and......the left wing broke right off
Unfortunately as many have observed the Neca King of the Monsters 2019 line has been far less than perfect in the quality control department, but I replaced the figure with this second attempt and treat it like a glass ornament, and happily this one seems a lot sturdier. It was just crazy that the METAL screw in the wing was what broke off, not the plastic parts.
Fragility issues aside I love this toy. It's a beautifully sculpted rendition of Rodan from the new movie and other than me not really feeling some of the cuts they made in the body for articulation (honestly I would have been perfectly happy with the wings being one solid piece), the look of the figure captures his new film version perfectly, and the paint is pretty solid as well, though in the hands of a customizer it would look even better. Comes with the great little Outpost 56 base as well, so you don't feel like you're paying $30 for a single kaiju with no accessories.
