I know a lot of fans were pretty upset when we found out that Playmates was not only doing the movie line for Godzilla vs Kong, but also that the deal with them seemed to be cancelling Neca's contract to make any further Godzilla toys. While I can safely say I was a little disappointed that a higher quality line wasn't going to get made, I have to admit after getting Axe Kong and now this new Skullcrawler that I'm a lot happier with what we've got, because to my surprise not only are they fun to handle, but Playmates has actually managed to do a better job than past versions. The Skullcrawler from Lanard for Skull Island was not particularly good....it sort of resembled the movie monster, but not to the degree that it seemed they put much effort into it.

THIS on the other hand does look like a Crawler, obviously the pain is simplistic and it's made for a child audience, but it is a design improvement, and kind of enjoy the fact that it harkens to the days of Jurassic Park again with the battle damage feature. Also props to them for including the MONARCH vehicle the HEAV (what a name) just to have a little something more from the movie universe.

Considering my only options to get a high quality Skullcrawler in vinyl would require spending way, WAY too much money, the fact that I can get a decent looking Skullcrawler at local retail now for $10 is honestly pretty nice.
