Description
I haven't had much time to do artwork or projects lately. Been sick, on new medication for work-related injuries, but I kinda had to get this done once I discovered a wonderful new foam clay material. It finally allowed me to make an OK figure of the Millennian from Godzilla 2000, Orga's baby form, which sadly Bandai never made a toy of beyond a teeny tiny little transparent candy figure. Not good enough! So I have taken the matter into my own hands!Commissions OPEN! kaijukid.deviantart.com/journa…

What kind of material is it made of and what company makes it and where did you find it? An excellent figure of the Millennian

Thanks, I used a material called Cloud Clay which I picked up at Hobby Lobby, really good material and it air dries, but unfortunately it seems that they stopped carrying it and I have yet to find a suitable replacement

I use sculpey clay, but it is an oven bake clay, but it has some flexibility and they also make a clay that once it bakes it is still flexible. I used it for my figure of Medusa, from Zilla the series, and rolled the clay real thin and molded it around small wires and once it baked I was able to bend the tendrils.

Nice, sounds like you figured out a good system, I always had trouble with sculpey either in figuring out how long to cook it so it wouldn't be too brittle or in problems with assembling it for more complicated figures, but it's still a pretty reliable substance. I use it regularly on the kaiju cosplays for teeth.

If you start with a cold oven like I do, it takes 17 minutes

appreciate that, it's always a bummer to be down when you're used to doing art almost every day

thanks, this new material is really agreeable, I think more kaiju will be coming down the line with this stuff, maybe some Zilla the series critters

When I was a kid, I used to make paper colored/drawn cut-outs of the characters I didn't have and try to make them 3 dimensional.
Very cool stuff you did.

Well, i hope you feel better soon. On the other hand, i like that you were still able to make this. It actually looks like a cutesy version of the millenian.

Thanks Yeah the drawback to using the clay was that I couldn't really get the limbs as thin as they needed to be, so it's sort of a chibi Millennian, but it's cool, I'm still really happy to finally have this sucker after 16 years

Welcome. And i agree. It's better to have the figure even if it's like this than to not have it at all.
