Description
I regret that I never saw the Rocketeer until just this last year. The movie, the music, the fun of it filled me with more joy than I've had watching a movie in a long, long time. I can't explain it as well as I should like, but the Rocketeer filled my spirit with elation, a return to childhood spectacle and wishing I was the hero coming to save the day. That's rare in my adulthood, so I'm glad that even though it was late, I found this film.

Me and my cousins watched this flick ALL THE TIME when we were little, from a time when superhero movies were far more rare than they are today. The Rocketeer always takes me back "makes mental note to pick this flick up to watch with my niece and nephew someday" XD

You raise a good point, we're in a golden age of superhero movies but if you few up in the 80s and 90s part of the excitement about a GOOD superhero movie was how uncommon they were or how long it took for them to come out. I've found in retrospect that I'm a huge fan of the 80s and 90s "retro" superhero flicks like Rocketeer, Dick Tracey, The Shadow and even Batman 89 looks like it came out of the noir era in the design. There's just something special about them to me, like they nailed that style and quality. I still need to see The Phantom.
