Pure nightmare fuel. This movie was actually kinda scary.

In the next movie, which is set around 4 years after the 2016 movie,we see that they have put mechanical casings around their body and force them to fight as an online gambling

Wow, that would be insane Β  Unfortunately impractical since the fans have guessed they stand around 20 feet tall, but I'd still love to see fanart of it.

I am starting to think that this is a prelude to a AoT kind of story, but much more realistic. its just like a zombie apocalypse, but the virus, which are fully independent Godzilla cells, have spread all over the world, consuming every organic matters. They infect lifeforms, which fortunately humans are not the main targets, assimilate and creating new body, ala The Thing, joining together like Destoroyah, and stop when they reach a certain size (like 20 feet tall) in which now they will devour human openly

I wonder if there going to continue this hole humanoid Godzilla thing in the sequel.Β

Are those creatures Shin Godzilla's offspring ? Cause I heard this Godzilla's regeneration is so potent that pieces of his flesh that are broken off from his body can continue to live on their own and evolve into entire creatures.

It's very speculative what they are at this point, SPOILER but at the end of the film they literally are sprouting from his tail like a flower of creatures. Β The best guess is just that he's trying to adapt and reproduce in a way that will help defeat smaller creatures, in essence us. Β It's going to be very interesting to see if they follow up on this idea because I think it would be a shame to waste it.

I just hope that they are not like Destroyah, like having Shin Godzilla split into smaller forms and recombine (This Godzilla is very similar to Hedorah and Destroyah, because he is a collection of countless microscopic organisms),I'm willing to except changes, but not that much changes.

Where's Ash Willaims when you need him?!!

But in all seriousness, the ending of Shin Godzilla was very frighting because if Godzilla is ever to unfreeze, mankind will not only have to deal with him, but a new species all together!

Great job my friend!

Danke, and yeah I really hope that they follow up for once on a plot line, the Millennium series for all its fun charm left me aggravated through the whole run with a severe lack of continuity, and it would be nice to go back to a more Heisei like sensibility.

Likewise! As entertaining as the Millennium era was it annoyed me that there was zero continuity to any of the films except for the Kiryu Saga, I wanted to see how the story progressed from one film to the next instead of starting all over again from scratch each movie & acting like this was the first time Godzilla had ever returned over & over again. As strange as the ending to Shin Gojira was, I would like to see a sequel where they follow up on whatever the hell was going on with his tail and see where it goes from there. Will Godzilla give birth to a race of mutant "Gojinoids?" Will Shin Gojira not revive & one of his brood will grow to be his successor? Or will we have a "War of the Gojiras" type scenario in which Godzilla goes to war with one or more monsters spawned from his own body? There are SO MANY ways this could go & I'd like to see it followed up on, no more stand alone Gojira reboots each film >_<

Great job on the Gojinoid! It feels good to finally be able to stop avoiding fanart, no more fear of spoilers, and god were they EVERYWHERE, XD

KaijuKid In reply to KaijuDuke [2016-10-16 22:21:29 +0000 UTC]

I love the name Gojinoids, I hope that catches on XDΒ  One good theory I read was that this was Goji's way of adapting and readying himself for future retaliation, understanding that his enemy is a large number of smaller beings that were able to unite against his single massive form, so as a defensive mechanism he began to spawn "pawns" that could go out and take out the vermin for him.Β  It's a little far fetched but in concept I like it, but ultimately my hope is for a direct sequel and that these little buggers drastically grow and mutate and become a plethora of familiar and unfamiliar monsters, but we'll see what kind of budget Toho gives the next one Β  Theoretically it should be set, I mean Shin Goji KILLED in Japan, but they may still be nervous about throwing big bucks at a Godzilla film just in case lightning doesn't strike twice.

That too is my main gripe with the millennium series! It had two of my favorite Godzilla flicks ever, but there wasn't any continuity to them!Β

If they do make more films, my two biggest hopes is that they have continuity AND bring new things to the table.Β
