This is a sequel to www.deviantart.com/art/Turtle-… commissioned again by SXGodzilla , and I'm happy to have finally had the chance to complete the image with the evil Foot Clan side. The creature is SXGodzilla's own unique take on the Gyaos which is pretty sweet. Thanks, and yeah it's actually the commissioner's Iris/Gyaos hybrid, which honestly looked pretty cool in his concepts, so I'm glad I got the chance to do something a little different for the piece.

Thanks, yeah some of those later Gyaos got a little skeletal. I do like the overall look of them from Gamera the Brave especially but they were getting pretty gruesome by that point.

Aw Yea! The Foot Clan! The 2003 version as well! I LOVE that Japanese music that plays whenever the foot ninja show up! I'll tell the truth, as a TMNT fan, every time a new version or take of the TMNT is announced, I always slightly look more forward to seeing the new take on Shredder then I am the turtles themselves. Shredder is one of my FAVORITE villains, well, ever! Even though I grew up watching a VHS tape of the original 80s show, meaning I was introduced to that shredder, I prefer the more serious takes on the character, like the 1990 movie, this show, and TMNT 2012.
I will say though, this shredder, is kind of an 'okay' take to me. I REALLY liked him at first, until the whole "he's an Utrom" reveal. I'm honestly not a big fan of that. I do like how it opened the lore for him being a criminal that pretty much ruined several ENTIRE worlds before coming to earth, but I would have liked it better if they gave that background to Krang or something. That's why Shredder 2012 is one of my favorites, because he's just as awesome as the 2003 version, and he's human!
Still doesn't change how much I love Shredder as a whole, as the intro the 2003 show would say:
"WATCH OUT FOR SHREDDER!"

The Utrom Shredder was a good reveal and something different to set the series apart, but yeah ultimately it just doesn't deliver itself to be as satisfying as having old Shreds be a badass man with dark ambitious and jealous motivations. The Nick show also managed to stump my expectations in the quality of the writing in the long run. First season was more rough kid's show, but it pretty quickly won me over for how well they managed to cater to the child audience, the old school fans and people who just plain wanted well written character studies. The whole depth to Shredder and Yoshi's rivalry in the Nick series stepped up and really paid off well, the last season before the Tales episodes started up frankly blew my mind, very well done. I'll be sad to see this incarnation of the Turtles end.
