When Cthulu came to our world from some long forgotten place best left be, he brought with him his servitors and minions the Cthulu Spawn. These sentient Octopi quickly went about building the city of Ry'leh for their titanic master to dwell but they soon found themselves at war with the super intelligent Elder things and YITHIANS. Eventually the spawn of Cthulu and Cthulu himself were beaten back as were the great old ones who sided with him, and imprisoned in isolated areas of the world, but some of the Cthulu Spawn escaed this fate and they along with the DEEP ONES seek to free their master.
