The follow-up to [link]The final piece of art for this time, obviously, is Anguirus.
My notes on the design:
When considering Anguirus, I thought of two things first: face and color. My friends describe Anguirus as having a "Where's My Coffee" look in his 1960's and 1970's incarnations, and I think it's quite apt. I took that face and made it a bit fanglier and craggy, but the body is heavily influenced by the 2004 Anguirus from Final Wars. I also studied many four-legged animals, especially a rhino's, for a general look-and-feel for his body.
Man, these are fun....I'm tempted to make more...NO, BAD MATT. NOT ANOTHER MULTI-YEAR-SPANNING-PROJECT.

Don't worry Matt sometimes the little voice inside in your head can benefit you! Well, anyways nice one here Matt this rhino-guirus look is more intimidating than the NEO (although NEO is charging at us) i like this one better.

If not all just do the four obelisk you already done Godzilla and Anguirus so the other two should be Mothra and King Ghidorah.

What's a good Goji flick to watch with him getting a good amount of screentime?

'Godzilla/Gifantis Raids Again'. It was Goji's second film and Anguiruses first. It also had probably the longest outright physical brawl between two kaiju. It's a tad fast since they didn't slow the camera like they did in later entries but if you want Anguirus then its a good one to pick up. A close second would be 'Godzilla vs Gigan', he does a tag team with Godzilla in that one.

Ooo, I like the colors. Red and blue suits him well. On top of that, I like it when someone updates the classic designs rather than make a whole new look for the character. That's what I really liked about some of the Trendmasters toys (Gigan and Anguirus in particular).
I don't mean to tempt you, but if you decide to do another one of these just for the hell of it, you should do the 1968 Goji. ^_^

Well, I don't feel like buying premium membership, but I think I can critique anyway.
I love this guy's face, it's definitely the sort of personality this monster has. The coloring is neat, it makes him look different than the Godzilla drawing.
These two commissions might actually be a step up from most of the Neo series drawings.
...I hope I don't get flamed for saying that, or have Godzilla Neo come smashing through my town...

one more thing to add i think his neck should be a little higher because the shell or what ever it is is covering his neck a bit and it makes it look like a turtle but anyways its nice piece keep up the good work dude

Wow, nice design, I like the face a lot, and his tail is pretty fierce looking. Nice shell as well, his spikes look bigger but less of them. Over all a really nice design, I'm glad you put all this work into it and it paid off.

I can totally see Anguirus going to Godzilla, and just say "Hey uh.....where's the damn coffee".
In any case really great work, you just keep 1uping yourself with nearly every piece of art you post. Though one thing, the background is bland maybe you could add some scenery or something.
