Description
A calm, peaceful place is sometimes the most dangerous of them all. Not knowing what is behind the corners, awaiting you in the shadows. They seem endless and are everywhere. Do they have a mind of their own? Embrace the light and never leave it, for the moment that you do, you will not survive. We are here, we are everywhere, and we are watching you. This is not yours and you do not belong. Fall into the shadow and be with us always. The original scene was supposed to be simple and calm, but you know me, I gotta complicate things. I like how it turned out though. The drone HUD was a last minute decision, not sure what sparked my interest, but I loved making it. Not sure what's gotten into me lately, but I enjoy things like this; viewing a scene from another view point other than a human. Lets you see things from a different perspective and adds a whole other element to the story.

Great work, and your backstory is terrifying. I imagine the fear and endless emptiness. High fives

The rest of the picture is great and all, but I love the graphic design on the camera specs format overlay. Great work!

That is absolutely amazing. I freakishly love basically everything about this. I hope you don't mind - I submitted this image to my subreddit here: [link]

Great sense of "in situ" perspective, not unlike the sci-fi image you made just prior to this one, and arguably even better done, though comparably both are good. The sense of three-dimensionality achived with the various effects here is particularly noteworthy, the HUD is very tastefully and realistically/somewhat-futuristically done, the sense of perspectivalisation given by such things as the apparently stretched planet and sense of light-sources is very impressive -- and the ominous/eerie poetic description is a nice finishing touch for narrative. A good, original and yet fairly convincing digital art style.

Hey Kyle, thanks for the comment man, I always appreciate a well thought-out (and in-depth) critique. How are you doing by the way?

No problem (in fact a pleasure) Bobby. Quite fine, but fairly busy with study, yourself?

Good to hear, and I look forward to future works from you! I would hope to make something by the end of the year. I also notice that one of the good things about The Luminarium, is that they do not force members to produce works (unless membership remains exhibited on dA but not on the site in a long absence of works submitted thereto...). I would hope to contribute to that project at some time again in the future, in other words.

Thanks man, I hope to see some of your new work as well! Yeah we try not to put pressure on people to make stuff for every exhibit, but we also want them to be active. It works out though, and don't worry man, you're still apart of the team.

That's great. By all means, wanting people to be active in the group, but not forcing them to be active, seems to be a fair policy.

Wow! Yeah, what *Ellygator said. Most of your pieces are realistic, but this one really does it. I think the HUD and the glass effects really help draw you in. The ground and regolith look really nice and the lighting on the vehicle is perfect.

Love the gritty HUD! Gives the effect that it strobes and flashes so it doesn't seem overpowered. Nice job!

Interesting you mention that, a still from that movie is what inspired me to make this.
