Aka: My Calidius replacement in Ice Empire! i'm joking Actually, I got enabled to make a second character to throw in the group, though two characters in EBC is definitely where I'm drawing the line this time. Basil's a big, floofy cinnamon roll of a boy though compared to tiny 'lil headstrong Marcellus, so that gives me one tol and one smol. alksjk last ebc ref upload I promise! I have an 8 day straight stretch to pull at work this week starting today, but after that I should be back with some actual art!

Though Basil might not look the part at first with his passive nature and personality that seems to fit a den father over an actual gladitor, he was expected at one point to grow into a promising coliseum fighter. Though he's not the best on the battlefield despite his size, he's loyal and protective with the heart of a guardian. He'll protect anything and everything he considers precious to him; his long lost best friend and Empire leader, Chara, and everyone in Ice Empire included.

[o] "You don't look like a cat to swim, but wanna follow me to this really great spot I found anyway?"

Where Basil lacks in fighting skills and ferciousness, he makes up for in his laid back and calming demeanor. Though he's more a lover and friend than a fighter, he's a real calming prescense in the face of turmoils. He's also good with kits and cubs too and have seemingly endless patience when it comes to watching, guarding, and teaching the Empire's future.

[-] "This huntin' and patrollin' stuff's too much work. Can't we take turns or this time? Or at least stop for a snack?"

Though his casual natural also leads to a bout of pure laziness sometimes, too. He was rejected from the coliseum for being too passive and sent to grow up the soft and easy life of a pet in the hands of wealthy owners. He's soft and tends of brush off a few duties here and there for the sake of lounging in the sun or a nearby stream; often having to be reminded of the work he's responsible for. He doesn't like strenuous tasks and will often balk at chores that require him to do a lot of manual work. He also tends to complain more often when he's hungry too.

Background:
A tiger from the city, Basilisk was a feline slated to be used in the coliseums as a fighter. His larger than normal size as a cub made for a promising future as an elite entertainment fighter that’d bring in plenty of bets and funds for his owners. Unfortunately, his attitude as a passive and patient cat wouldn’t align well with the future his humans demanded of him, and before long, Basil was tossed from the line up of his owners most prized fighters and sent to a local couple to be a prized pet as a symbol of their power and wealth.
Being fawned over never sat well with Basil, especially when his status as a pet meant being cooped up in a small cage for most of the day. For some reason, his future always seemed to call for something more, like something was missing; like his paws were meant to tread a different ground than the hard, tiled floor his owners kept spotless.
The dirt of nearby waterfalls, the grass under his claws, the feel of water through his fur, a long lost friend-
Something was missing and his heart ached for it, so he turned his claws on his owners when they came to collect him from his pampered prison one day; not enough to kill, but enough to buy him a chance to escape. Running and running, his paws carried him away from the city and toward the open territories where pure instinct fueled his desire to get to something unknown; something wild.
He’s not sure where this trail in his future’s taking him, but for some reason, he doesn’t want to turn back now either.
