commission for =Feyrah of her awesome character Flick, who I adore now. <33 First time ever drawing a raccoon, though I've always kinda wanted one as a char, so hopefully he doesn't look too much like a wolf or something non-raccoon like. xD

I love the colors! They remind me of autumn and I just love autumn! X3 Anyways, very nice raccoon. First time I've actually seen one here on DA though, but very nice nonetheless. Btw, I was looking over the comments, and I also wanted to say thanks for the line art tutorial. Very simple and easy, and a bit of an encouragement. It's a little harder for me since I don't have either a mouse or tablet (trackpad), but I'm optimistic that that'll change.

I posted a tut about how I do my lineart awhile back. [link] It's mainly just making the picture huge, doing my lineart and coloring, then resizing it back small again. ;3 In the end, you get really smooth lineart and colors.

The markings and the slender short muzzle make him immediately recognisable as a racoon.

I love the design and everything!! I could tell it was a little more raccoony than the others you've been drawing.
IMO, it does look a bit like a fox or a wolf...the only difference I see is rounder, slightly smaller ears, rounder head and a shorter muzzle. But that's just my opinion, other than those I think it looks great! Raccoons do look a little like foxes and wolves anyway. I always imagine raccoons with more exaggerated features, like slender pointed muzzles and such, but maybe it's just me xD I need to watch less Disney movies.

I did a little research before drawing this, and raccoons are technically part of the canine family, so I guess it's fitting for them to look a little fox/wolfish. Fey draws her raccoons with less pointy muzzles so I guess I was trying to stay on model. c: I always imagined raccoons with pointier muzzles too! xD
