Underschism!Chara was born in the human city hundreds of years after the Human and Monster’s War. Being raised in a family that is descended from a human who used to be in love with a monster, the family knew that monsters weren’t the ‘evil, cruel’ overlords the rest of the humans thought they were. Chara and their younger cousin, Frisk, were raised on tales of monsters who attempted to save the lives of humans despite the cruel times of war. Chara, growing up on these tales, decided one day to seek out a monster and find out if these tales were true or not. Due to their parents’ deaths by attempting to sneak out, Chara became Determined to be the first human to make it past the patrols. They succeeded, and managed to travel almost unhindered through the Gaster’s kingdom; their good luck, however, would end, and they would be forced to escape the city whilst running for their lives. They crossed a river that allowed them to ‘lose’ track of their pursuers, and ended up in a field that was normally traveled by residents of Asgore’s kingdom. There they were found by Asriel, who would then convince his parents to adopt the human child. From that point on, Chara was raised in the royal family, and became a symbol of hope for peace and unity among humans and monsters. When they became of age, Asgore and Toriel decided to choose a ‘job’ for Chara, as the right of the throne would go to Asriel. Chara’s job would be the future lead of the Royal Guard, and they were trained by the captain of said Royal Guard, Undyne.

...also they're not wearing their yellow-striped green sweater because they're not a kid anymore. In monster culture, only kids wear stripes, so, uh, yeah x'D
