Description Castlevania: Aria of Irony

Even though the item that Soma died of food poisoning, the rusty food tin, only appeared in Dawn of Sorrow, I placed the comic's setting in Aria of Sorrow since chances are... Soma at that time would still be a newb in vampire hunting and the dangers of Dracula's castle.

I'll admit that when I first encountered this item I died because the description says: "Are you brave enough to eat the contents of this tin?"
... So I thought to myself... oh hell yeah! That doesn't scare me one bit... omg why did my HP go down to 1. *Gets hit by a simple bat and dies* DAMMIT!!! >_<

I'm very happy with how this comic turned out, since a couple of my non-gamer friends actually laughed when they read it. And I'm glad to have made it humorous for them, whether you're a gamer or not.

So the moral of this comic... don't eat mysterious items with strange descriptions without the proper soul equiped. And you won't make the same mistake I did.

You had one job Rusty Food Tin, and you botched it. For such a large extravagant place, finding a nice hot meal is hard to find in Dracula's castle.

All that wall insulation must be working, since it keeps the food from getting too cold. No one likes a plate of cold porkchops.

Nothing beats a large plate of porkchops while adventuring Dracula's castle. Well, maybe some cake on the side would be nice.

(Hint: Their soul is quite helpful! They reduce the damage you take, which means I'm doing the victory dance )

OMG I remember my first time I did that..

Soma: *is in Subettreanian(sp?) Hell* Damnit, I'm low on HP. What do I have that I can waste and have plenty of? *looks**has rotten meat* ... Well, it beats nothing. *eats it**ges down to 1 HP* WTF?! Damnit, now I have to find a save spot!!
-Five minutes of looking(And not getting hit)-
Soma: *finds a Save Room in the left of his direction, guarded by a Dead Pirate* .... Kick in the Indiana Jones theme. *runs*
--
Me: *is "doo de doo"ing the IJ theme*
--
Soma: *jumps over* A ha!!
Dead Pirate:*swings the sword*
Soma: DAMNIT!!! *gets hit* Auuuuooogh!! *dies*

And I dunno why I didn't comment on this. Oh well. Still great work!!

Man, that reminds me of the time when I first played hard mode and I was still trying to get all the souls to get the chaos ring.

LOL Indie theme is indeed fun.

OblivionTheHedgehog In reply to Kajyu [2007-07-26 02:44:06 +0000 UTC]

Hard mode was easy for me. Very easy. I didn't die half the time like in my first play through. XD

Ya rly. Very fun when you're doing something so Indiana Jones-ish.

Kajyu In reply to OblivionTheHedgehog [2007-07-26 02:48:31 +0000 UTC]

Well... either your quite lucky with collecting souls or I have terrible luck with soul-farming. <_< But at least I have better luck with Portrait of Ruin... most monsters drop their spells/subweapons after a couple of kills.

Oh and don't forget Nightwish... surprisingly it makes a nice background music when playing CV.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

OblivionTheHedgehog In reply to Kajyu [2007-07-26 12:36:42 +0000 UTC]

Actually, I collected the souls from the first playthrough, then started over with Hard Mode. But most of the souls, to me, are very easy to get. Just get to a high enough level to do some damage (Like lvl. 80 or so), equip all things luck, and just hunt down the monster you need the soul of.

Night.. Wish? Eh heh.. Sorry, but my game boundaries end there.. But isn't that the game with the cute clown from Sonic games? I so wanted to try them! I think they're comming out with one for the Wii, so I'll see what I can do...

Kajyu In reply to OblivionTheHedgehog [2007-07-26 21:31:42 +0000 UTC]

I pretty much did a speed run in hard mode too so that kinda made it harder as well. <_<; I like the fact that in Portrait of Ruin they have items such as gambler glasses and the increase luck spell.

Oh... no, not that kind of Nightwish. I meant the band Nightwish. [link]

That's a good one. Or he could just place all of the strongest bosses in the castle entrance instead of just leaving the skeletons and the zombies to do the defending.

I didn't understand the point to the expired and tainted foods as well. Then again, there is a soul that gives you the ability to eat rotten food (so, I guess that's why it's there). Well, I guess Soma should have found a zombie soul before eating the tainted food. Good comic by the way.

Sustitute In reply to EvilCatV7 [2007-11-26 18:17:21 +0000 UTC]

I'm not sure if it's in Dawn of Sorrow as well, but in Aria of Sorrow, there was a soul that increased Soma's stats as his HP dropped.

I always assumed that was the reasoning behind spoiled food appearing in the Boss Rush mode...

Kajyu In reply to EvilCatV7 [2007-07-10 04:50:05 +0000 UTC]

Other than catching newb players (or those that don't bother reading the text description) off guard by having the opposite effect of most food items... the only main purpose of them are for adding more items to collect. <_<

Thanks for the comment.
