Oh my. I have a feeling I wouldn't progress much in that game. I'm still stuck at the halfway point on the first Trauma Center.

I feel like the only human being who has never played the PS2 Castlevania games. I have the the DS titles (save for the recent OoE),but they were from GameStop and have that faggy unofficial case, instead of the real one.

It's ok if you haven't played the PS2 Castlevania games, they're ok but not as great as the 2D ones (it's worth a shot if you're a CV fan).
As for the ugly unofficial case you were talking about, is the game by any chance Dawn of Sorrow... because the EB Games I shop at did that several months after its release date.

I'm a CV fan,I just wanna play the PS2 ones badly, since I don't have any other games for my PS2 other than the entire MGS series (Save for MGS4),and I've beaten each one about 6 times, and I want to check the PS2 Castlevania games.
And you're good. It happened to be Dawn of Sorrow, and Portrait of Ruin. It's hard to find either one since the cases are the exact same, and I can't tell the difference except for the title on front.

It's always nice to expand your game library, so I think trying out the PS2 CV games should be fine. But since they have been released a couple years ago, it might be a little hard to find them in stores.
When I first saw the unofficial cases, I was thinking "That's one game cover I wouldn't be proud of having around".

Yeah,it's pretty hard to find any PS2 titles at all,let alone a Castlevania game.
And yeah the game covers are pretty annoying. My friend printed out the front and back covers of the game he bought, then slipped them into the thing (The thing that holds the cover onto the case, its name escapes me.). I'd to the same, but my printer is out of ink. I think a more lulzy approach would do good, like hand-drawing it,purposely making it look bad. XD

Yeah, I agree. That's why I try to buy a Castlevania game a few days or a month after it has been released, to save me that trouble of hunting it down.
I've heard of some people doing that too. Especially since some aren't fond of the anime style they did on the art cover of Dawn of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin. I've even some people print out this piece down by Ayami Kojima and slip it on the front cover of their game. [link]

Smart,I've never been able to do that, since usually I don't have the money to buy something new from GameStop. Not only that,I also get a bit carried away at the release dates.
Never seen that piece before, looks pretty cool. At least they won't have to bother with doing it for Order of Ecclesia, but wouldn't they have to worry about the title of the game being on the cover?

Kajyu In reply to n00bish-shinobi [2009-08-04 04:04:41 +0000 UTC]
With the large amounts of games being released in a year, prioritizing really makes a difference. I most likely keep track of the release dates of games that are either A)I really like. or B)are an obscure or a niche game that will most likely be very hard to find later on.
That artwork was included for those who have the soundtrack. For Order of Ecclesia, both the US and Japanese cover for the game are pretty awesome... but I think this artwork would also be nice to slip in the game case for some variety. [link]

I still have yet to buy Order of Ecclesia, but that artwork looks pretty awesome.

Worth a shot. Best of luck in your hunt for obscure/rare games.
Yeah, I agree. The artwork in Order of Ecclesia is really nice to look at, good to put up as a desktop wallpaper.

And yes,The artwork for OoE is really good. I'm pretty sure that there's a couple wallpapers of the new artwork,if there's not already.

nice collection mate.
Urmm..
Have you played
Trace Memory, or Another Code: Two Memories (depends on where your from).
It's from the same people who made Hotel Dusk: Room 215. but it was released before.
It's a great game!

After playing Hotel Dusk, I tried to look for Trace Memory. It was quite hard to find but fortunately I got a chance to play it, and it was worth finding.
If you're into adventure games, I think you'll also like playing Theresia. It was just recently released so hopefully it's not yet hard to find. Here's some info if you want to know the details. [link]

I think you can edit your pic size with photoshop and it would still be fine (but the resolution would be compromised).

Thanks.
I'm trying to get more Nippon Ichi games, like Makai Kingdom... but they are so hard to find from where I live. I'm lucky to even get Disgaea 1 and 2 that's not second-hand.
La Pucelle? Haven't heard of that game before...

[link] <--------------------La Pucelle Tactics. A character from it makes and appearance in Disgaea 1. The game was released in America after Disgaea but was made before it.
You also need to get Rhapsody for the collection to. But yeah.. still awesome collection

Sweet, I didn't know La Pucelle Tactics was actually the predecessor of Disgaea. Like the artwork and the sprites in this one. And the old European-like setting is interesting. Guess it's time to hunt it down, wish me luck. ^_^

Julius mode in AoS was tons of fun. Love the backstab teleport and his fast running pace. Wish they kept him like that in Dawn of Sorrow... but noooo they just had to have him nerfed.

Fact: AoS Julius Mode = A Walk in the Park Those bosses never knew what hit them.
Dawn of Sorrow's Julius mode incorporates the 3-playable character system similar to the old-school game Castlevania 3: Dracula's Curse. So alot of ppl liked it... especially if you throw in the nostalgia factor.
