I thought I'd finish this off. It was supposed to be quick iyoo. Skin tutorials weep. At least it wasn't hair.
Anyway, I used my Shimakaze drawing as the example. The picture up there...is an unfinished commission. I am trash again.

So a few days ago/last week, I promised (I think--) to do a giveaway since I reached 2k follower on here, 1k followers on twitter and 3k watchers on deviantart! All in the same week, which is really crazy!!
Since it's a trio of websites, I'll choose 3 winners! (Does not guarantee each winner will come from different websites. So there could be two winners from facebook and the other winner will be from twitter.)

What's your take on shading skin using some colors from the background? Should I try this or keep to skin tone shadings?

If you use some of the colors in the background and incorporate it into the character, I think it helps the character sit well with the background. Some people find it hard to fit their characters into the background, so I think blending the colors together will help.

I honestly don't like using the linework layer haha; Only for lining buildings or backgrounds

TT^TT I just wish that Paint Tool Sai wasn't being annoying and would let me use everything.
I used to always use airbrush, but it stopped working, so I have to use brush instead. And in the picture of the 3rd step, the palette is of no use to me either. -.- Then for some reason Sai loves to delete random pictures I saved (sorry for the rant). But I love Sai anyway. XD
