Description "She's not dead. There's no body. There's no proof. She's not dead, no matter what they say...

But if that's true, then why does it hurt so much?"

It started as a slight vent. Then, me being me, build a story around this little guy that had nothing to do with me, so I guess it's not a vent. I was just tired last night, irritated at my brother stealing my internet for his dumb game and telling me not to use it (if I do he will force me off. He's a bit of a bully like that.) And then I rested my head on my chair for awhile, aggravated. Then I started drawing ^.^.

And as I was drawing, a story formed. I named this charrie Kuran, and recently he lost his little sister, Kuru. But, his fellow pack mates didn't find the body, so he's in denial of her death. And he goes out searching for her, regardless of what everybody else says. Really, that is the very basic framework of it. I haven't really completely thought it out, but that's the base of it.

I can see how this could be depicted as denial, though. A false ray of hope that's not really there, the darkness of the unknown that contains the truth, ect...

Then again, I suppose this could also be considered hope, depending on whenever or not his sister is actually dead. I'd like to think she's alive somewhere, but perhaps not herself anymore...

So, what d'ya'll think?

agh. i've been scrolling through your at work for a while, and i really like what i see
but i just had to comment that i know how you feel about the brother thing. my brother forces me off the computer all the time too play stupid games. we have 2 computers, i use one, he uses the other. there should be no problem. i get home and get on the computer, go on youtube and watch a videos. then he comes in and claims i'm lagging his game. our internets are connected so usually they lag when someones on the other. so technically we were lagging eachother, except he has been on for hours, and i just got on. and he says i have to get off for a couple of hours or else he's gonna turn the computer that i'm on off. when he doesnt turn it off, he unplugs my internet so i cant do anything, and sometimes he loads 60 of the same youtube videos on his computer so i can do virtually nothing on my computer because it lags so much.
i want to smash his and my head into walls!!! >:C ugh.

ps. i just noticed this comment both ended and started with some sort of grunt

Hmm... this pose works very well with a drawing I'm thinking of making... Would you mind if I used this picture as a base/guide?

D'oh, hi! . Yea, I think it took about two hours to draw this, give or take a bit.

Hm, well, the process....First, I started out sketching it in blue on a layer. You know, circles, shapes, pose, all that. I then sketched his face and paws, and sketched out the edge of the ground he's resting on. Then I made a new layer and took the scratch board tool I have on my art program, chose the color black, and began drawing the wolf out, adding all his fur and hairstyle and designing him and everything. Then I duplicated the lineart layer, chose the bottom lineart layer, and took the fill-bucket tool and filled him in with color. I then took my scratch board tool again and drew his markings on with it. It took a bit of thought, since I was pretty much designing a new character on the spot.

After that, I took the soft charcoal tool on my art program. It's pretty much this really soft tool, heh. I made a new layer between the lineart and the color layer and chose black, and shaded him with it. Then I lowered the opacity of the shading, making it transparent.

After that, I made the color a bright blue and made a new layer above the shading layer, and gave him those glowy highlights with the soft charcoal tool, still.

Then, I made a layer below all those layers, and deleted the sketch layer, and colored the ground. I think I used soft charcoal for that, too. I added a texture to it and then made another layer and made the ground fade away to black by coloring it with the soft charcoal tool(yea, it's my favorite tool, heh.)
I made a layer below the ground one an chose a darker brown, and colored it, and then I chose an even darker brown and gave it depth, following he ridges an curves suggested by the line between the ground and the wall.
Next, I made the stream and put it above all the layers. I used a bunch off different shades and I think it was several layers, actually, some transparent and some below other things. I made another layer above everything and added the glow in the water with soft charcoal and then added the glowing blue line on the ground.

Somewhere during all that I made a layer for the wolf's shadow as well.

That's pretty much how I created it. I used the art program "Corel Painter Essentials 4" (an awesome art program). Sorry if my explanation was really, long, heh. I tend to go into detail a lot when describing things/processes.

Gah! I faved an forgot to comment! AGAIN.

What really gets me is the glowy effect. I love the color! And how you got him to have that fade away effect on him? Brilliance. I also like that flowy stream thingy. It's like it's not there. The overall effects on this piece is amazing, NICE JOBE. ^^
