When I try to make a second one it tells me the email address has already been used. I guess I'll just go make a new email account. Thanks

Maybe they changed the rules? °-°
This account is a year and a half old, so it probably has the old settings.

This tutorial is very useful! I saw you give someone else critique on their adoptables, so maybe you could critique mine as well?

Thanks, and sorry about the late reply, life is being awful. T_T
Anyway, kudos for trying the pixel lineart, but you should correct a few spots on it. For example, some lines overlap each other and they shouldn't, if you want to keep your lineart clean. Here's an example for it: [link] (Look at the part for the 'Mantaining Line Thickness' section)
The species' design is very nice and it has a lot of potential, but the base could use a bit of anatomy improvement. Something that really jumps out to you is the hind legs... Try looking at a horse's legs and replicate their main line: [link]
There are also many horse stock photos on dA that can help you with that.
The colour designs are simple but cute, so keep on the good job.

Hahaha... Ok, the first one is probably a bit borderline going against this, but how is this?

Patterns like that are often used in scene animals, and it's kind of their point to be flashy.
(But I always wondered how much time the owners spend on colouring them every time, if they ever draw them. )
The second one looks good, very chocolate-y.

Okay, good. ^^~ (It took a lot longer than I expected, even though I did not draw it. o_o")
Haha, thank you. ^^

The design is original and the pose and proportions are very good, the only thing I'd fix a little is the lineart... Since it looks a bit sketchy (small strokes with slight gaps in between) a full view of the size you put only enhances that feeling.
The solutions are either try to do more fluid and continuous strokes on the lineart or do a smaller preview. The design is visible on the small preview anyway.

Do you think pixely adopt bases would be fine?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Karijn-s-Basement In reply to miacat9 [2012-11-23 07:26:11 +0000 UTC]
I've seen many pixel bases, but they're mostly human and not used for adoptables but just to make dolls. I don't see a problem with using pixel bases, even if they're not widely used right now.
Sorry I wasn't much help, but there are very little adopts made in pixels right now. I've only seen one artist do them.

I wasn't going to do adoptables until my series was up but now I'm a bit short of cash.
How do you go about buying and selling adoptable via paypal?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Karijn-s-Basement In reply to DogmaticLoki [2012-10-29 19:32:11 +0000 UTC]
Well, you have a subscription so you either become a Beta Tester and do this [link] so you can convert points to money (be careful of the conversion rate, though) or you simply write 'Paypal only' and give your paypal address to the person who has claimed the adoptable.
Submitting to Adoptables Groups also helps with exposure.
I have written a series of Journals on Adoptables, this one is the first: [link]

I have what may sound like a stupid question. Once someone buys your adoptable, how do you give it to them? X__X
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Karijn-s-Basement In reply to Cyber-Flames [2012-09-01 23:48:49 +0000 UTC]
Not a stupid question, I get asked this a lot, actually.
It really depends, generally the buyer will favourite the deviation or save it on their PC and that's it. Sending the file by e-mail is usually reserved for when you want to send an unwatermarked/high resolution file.
If it's a traditional pic, I guess there's the 'physical' mail too, but I've never heard of people mailing adoptables, unless it's a sculpture.
Hope this answered your question.

So... I can create an adoptable that is a human?
Cause I've been seeing, most of the time, that adoptables are either chibis or a type of species/animals. :\
